    This makes my head hurt. Jeannie sucks at the internet too much to comprehend. :?

    Stealing = Lower Karma

    I think this is a good idea. Stealing is really powerful especially at the beginning of a game. In the beginning of Fallout 2 I have a hard time if my character only uses what he can buy from merchants but an easy time if he steals everything from everyone.

    Modifying weapons

    I've got a couple of questions. 1.) I decided that I want to make .45 ACP the most common cartridge in the wastes which is in keeping with the Americana theme of the game. I was going to change the 10mm ammo into .45 ACP. However, Fallout already has a .45 ACP ammo type. Is there any way...

    I was never a fan of the Fallout weapon choices

    Well, there's still sexism. See New Reno boxing. EDIT: Of course, even that doesn't compare to sexism expressed in books and films from the US in the 60s. If you ever take the time to watch random US films from the 60s or 50s it's pretty mind-blowing how sexist society was at the time...

    Modifying weapons

    Thanks! I've gotten started using Cubik's proto editor, which seems excellent for my purposes. I have just one more question for now: What is the best way to change the large inventory item graphics for the weapons? For example, if I wanted to change the 10mm SMG into something which...

    Totally freedom of game progress idea

    I think that's a good idea. It was actually done a lot in older Marathon-based FPS games. If you gibbed an enemy you couldn't loot his ammo after. In Jagged Alliance 2 you damage an enemy's equipment if you explode things on him or you shoot him many times. If you wanted to loot armor and...

    Modifying weapons

    I'm posting this thread after carefully checking the "read me first" thread at the top of this forum; many of the links to archived discussion were in fact broken. If I wanted to change weapons in Fallout 2 by changing 1.) their graphics and 2.) their descriptions and 3.) their in-game...

    I was never a fan of the Fallout weapon choices

    Hmm, interesting. I guess I never "got" the whole "chauvanistic 50s society with better technology" vibe. But now that you've mentioned it I can see where that's coming from. I can appreciate the idea that military technology got better while society never developed out of a jingoistic and...

    Best part of fallout 1 & 2?

    I think that the Junktown Killian-Gizmo quests were the best done in the Fallout games in terms of flavor and believability.

    I was never a fan of the Fallout weapon choices

    I was never a fan of the Fallout weapon choices. The Fallout artwork and intro really conveyed the atmosphere of the early 60s and the Cold War. Before I actually started playing a game but had seen only the intro movies and character creation graphics I imagined that the game would be filled...
