What did Bethesda actually do better than Black Isle?

Yeah the baby carriage!! I found one too and thought "Oh cool lets see what a ghoul baby looks like" and then yeah the beeps started and I scratched my head...died a few seconds later. I agree the traps so far have been really nifty. The rigged shotty at the front door is also pretty cool...

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

Ah yes that's right, good point. I guess the big difference though is that it has stayed with it's parent company Square...though they did merge with that other one... enix or something? Sorry I havent played FF since the seventh game. Resident Evil you could argue also went through a great...

Dark Humor and Bethesdas Take on It

I forget the building but it was some big private business near a metro station and if you read the computer entries they talk about hiding funds from the government and that every employee needs to be armed "mildly", which was pretty funny. A later entry then spoke of the Feds coming to bust in...

    But was the spirit preserved?

Lol, exactly, because with an Adult rating the game wouldn't sell nearly as well. How are you not proving my point? The earlier fallout games didn't have this issue.

V.A.T.S. is NOT a combat system

So the biggest complaint I'm seeing about VATS is it gives the player the ability to shoot grenades in the air? Really? Calling Fallout 3 easy is unfair and in my opinion its silly. I agree with you chaos, this is all a matter of taste I suppose. VATs is really fun, and when you combine it...

    But was the spirit preserved?

Lol, Public if you see it as cruel then fine, but I see very well and having played all three Fallout games I'm sure we can agree that Fallout 3 is at least, in its own way, "harsh". The laws and regulations towards video games now compared to then are far stricter. They had the intention, if...

    But was the spirit preserved?

Lol, amen. I'd have a beer anytime... but I doubt we live anywhere close, heh. Your third example is subjective mate, I totally see it at cruel. It would've been a whole lot meaner if we were allowed tokill kids and god knows what else the board made Todd take out. The other two, I don't...

    But was the spirit preserved?

exactly, which is why this is not a reason to throw away the game. It could be better but it is not a hinderance. The witcher did have good voice acting...but that game was not without its flaws either. Bethesda did a ... wholesome, I'm calling it a wholesome job with its voice acting. Just...

    But was the spirit preserved?

I think squinty, the problem for some isn't so much they sound the same but the delivery of all the NPC's lines tend to be similar if not identical. So for instance have talented voice actors in the first place that can create realistic, rather than identical, voices. For me it wasn't a big...

    But was the spirit preserved?

Lol, fine, we agree to disagree. One thing I do find silly is the character animations... especially the character's third person perspective. It's better than TES-OB but still far from being acceptable. Its like everyone walks on some sort of air-ride, like a air hockey table.

    But was the spirit preserved?

Its all in good fun, yeah. Just see no need to call people who enjoy the game BJing advocates is all... Anywho... Bethesda has its positives and yes there is some iffy dialogue delivery but all in all i thought it was well crafted. There is a lot worse...a whole lot worse. I found the...

    But was the spirit preserved?

Ah ok, I get it, fine. You're the dissident and I'm the BJing advocate. I thought we were having a decent conversation but it appears to be more of an attack. Whatever then... you've got the experience so my opinion must be completely wrong. Your forum Pope. Definately! One of the best...

    But was the spirit preserved?

Liar how? And I don't understand your comment about TES and Fallout... I guess that's a matter of opinion then... I enjoy VATS, The AI isn't broken from what I've seen and played. With about 75 hours in Oblivion and a great deal in Fallout 3... The voice acting is an improvement on...

    But was the spirit preserved?

The position he is in makes it very hard to please both sides of the thin line he was walking on during the production of this game. But, in the end isn't him making something that will fit the expectation of both the fan base and the people he works for (ie pushing copies) a success? One has to...

    But was the spirit preserved?

Mmm... Yeah I agree with the idea that it holds up to some sort of vision of Fallout. It has a feel all its own at times that can be quite amazing. There is no doubt the community at large finds it a little hard to swallow but I'm sure once the mods start pouring in the tune will change for...

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

I disagree. The facial animations in Mass Effect were robotic at best. My opinion though, you are entitled to yours. Still believe repetition in an MMO or RPG, like grinding or having a "job" is hard to swallow, thats all.

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

I think Mass Effect is a good comparison, as it goes for this... "cinematic" approach to game dialogue. Fallout 3 tries to be more grey, not just good or bad or neutral. And its nice to see. Anyone agree? But yeah I'm not saying the Fallout 3 writing is comparible to Shakespeare. Game writing...

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

Yah some enemies end up being easy prey but I enjoyed knowing certain enemies turned into my "lets-have-fun-blowing-something-up" time. What did you guys think of the dialogue though? Aside from the animations used to portray the dialogue I thought it was pretty good overall. Facial...

Something to think about. A few words about Fallout 3 .

Meh level scaling isn't that big a deal for me either. I used to play World of Warcraft and the amount of times you had to run just questing got boring after a while. I never found that immersive, if anything it can often be used as a cheesy way to make you play a game longer. I.e. "grinding" to...

Your favorite Fallout moment from F3

Yeah I remember doing that too once and thought it was pretty cool. I chucked a frag over to a few super mutants in one of the subway tunnels and after throwing it I realized there was a train of busted cars that trailed to me. I tried running but the chain reaction ended up almost taking me out...
