Tunnel snakes as a major faction

I said Valve using Source all the time makes using the same engine over and over not a bad thing, I never said Gamebryo was more stable.

Why is Fallout 3 so hated?

I get it now, my mistake. I just thought the line was about "it's bad because I can make better mods than ingame stuff", which sounds stupid to me. But I did like some of the actually "unique" stuff, but most of those were in DLC's so I don't know if they really count. Although to be entirely...

Tunnel snakes as a major faction

I never said RAGE had to be used, I said it was a better and different engine. Why would RAGE even be a bad substitute for an RPG anyway? Also, adding in a new engine would obviously require some different programming for it to work better unless one thinks a game engine just changes graphics...

The Power Armor dilemma in New Vegas

Probably because it would be pointless to wear it if you didn't know the in's and out's of it. Having a fighter jet is cool but it's useless if you don't know how to fly it (even if power armor is easier to use than a fighter jet). The PA is supposedly hard to wear if you don't have the proper...

This is why I prefer New Vegas. Why or why dont you?

They also do alot of that in New Vegas too. Most of the time I don't mind because I like to go around the wasteland and I'm like, "I'm going there anyway, I might as well do while I'm there". But the "Come fly with me" quest just pisses me off, the entirety of that quest was more or less a "mega...

    Ability to have more companions

I find it strange that this thread of all places wants the ability of have more than 2 companions. I like the 2 companion limit. It keeps the game balanced, otherwise everyone would be running around with Boone, ED-E, Arcade and Veronica everywhere. Now wouldn't THAT be a gamebreaking combo.

Why is Fallout 3 so hated?

Just a nitpick but I don't think it's really fair to say that a game sucks because you can make better weapons with mods. I do acknowledge that there are weapons that are renamed and all that but most games have weapons like that - weapons with just slightly changed statistics. Fallout 3 has...

Why is Fallout 3 so loved ?

Well, in that little cutscene that shows the oil rig exploding, the Valdez was already leaving camera view at a slow pace. The vertibirds would have left by then and thus we didn't see them. Anyway, Korin's right, this thread is not for "contradicting arguments", lets just agree to disagree.

Tunnel snakes as a major faction

That's probably just the game engines fault though, Gamebyro is outdated and should be replaced or at least heavily modified, even more than Skyrim's engine. I'm sure they'd be more competent if the game engine were replace with something like RAGE (Rockstar's engine).

Why is Fallout 3 so loved ?

I highly doubt ALL of the Enclave in existence was on the oil rig, there were probably still a lot of soldiers on the mainland, just not enough to really put up a fight, thus they relocated, or that's my idea anyway. I'd also like to say that the Brotherhood did not send "whole armies". That...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I decided to play some Left 4 Dead 2 today and uh... I must've entered a modded server because the entire place was nuts. The infected could kill you in just a few hits (I'm talking like full health to death in 5 seconds), people were flying around when they jumped, the melee attack would loop...

Tunnel snakes as a major faction

You'd think Rivet City Security would prevent that sort of thing. I'd also like to know what kind of fishes would be feeding off of Butch, what with the Potomac's state... probably three-eyed fish.

They were part of the Resource Wars though.

Why is Fallout 3 so loved ?

Yup, I'm pretty sure that sums up why most people enjoy Fallout 3. Is it cheesey, yes, is it a bit ridiculous, absolutely, but I think it has a charm to it. It may not be "Fallout", but I still think it's fun, even if some things in it could be... out there. To be entirely fair, if two...

Any species that could succeed humanity?

That is until some raider plucks out all of the gore bag's awesome entrails to decorate his house... what a sad day it will be.

Nah, Butch is in the Rivet City bar if I remember.

Companion you hated most on a personal level?

Ah yes, Raul's quest is famous for it's bugginess. Cass is my personal unfavourite, from a gameplay stance anyway. You can't have her as a companion until you start working for Crimson Caravan despite the fact she's one of the first companions you can meet. And even then her main weapon is a...

    GTA 6

I always wanted a GTA game that took place in Washington D.C. Fallout 3 was the closest I got. Fallout 3's alright, but it obviously isn't GTA. 2008 Would have been a perfect year for a Washington D.C. based GTA to take place in. Though I guess domestic terrorism in the nations capitial during...

    Missing Boone

That wouldn't have worked since I play New Vegas on Xbox. But it doesn't matter, since I finally found Boone. He was in the lobby to the Lucky 38, hidden behind a securitron, so everything's good now.
