    The Game That Wasn’t There

Kotaku hosts on op-ed piece about the current crop of western RPGs compared to those of yore.<blockquote>I have lamented the fading of turn-based gameplay before, but I have to reiterate how galling I find its absence in Western RPGs. I play RPGs when I want a break from fast-action and...

Tim Cain interview on Matt Chat, part 3

No it wasn't cut, its one of the easter eggs IIRC. Basically you travel through a portal to the V13 interior and break the waterchip accidently. TBH I felt it was unneeded.

Tim Cain interview on Matt Chat, part 3

*holds up lighter* ENCORE ENCORE!!!!! WE WANT MORE! Seriously, it feels like he was still in the middle of talking when the interview ended.

    Fan-made Fallout movie short

Ah, I didn't know that ab out the card, I'm not exactly well informed in cars. "Hey Eternal, check out that sweet Corvette!" "Huh? I guess its ok." "No. thats lamppost, the corvette is over here."

    Fan-made Fallout movie short

Good stuff: The scene where the guy gets hit is perfect The fact there is grass and you didn't resort to sepia toning the entire video via a filter. the VW bug looks great the cosplayer looks great the gun looks awesome. The stuff that could have been better: The...

Tim Cain interview on Matt Chat, part 2

Fact: The larger the scope of the PR and Media buy the better the game will be reviewed and the more popular it will be. It wont make a bad game reviewed as 'good' but it will certainly give it a bump up on the scale. A game that would normally be considered average may get much higher marks...

Tim Cain interview on Matt Chat, part 2

He loved the one thing that imo was its shining quality. The sweeping landscapes and architecture. From a distance the games environments are quite pretty and give a great sense of scale to the world. Unfortunately it doesn't give you any sense of how shallow that world is.

Tim Cain interview on Matt Chat, part 2

Great interview, I definately sense remorse at the loss of the control of the IP. Its a shame Troika didn't get it, I bet if they had then they'd still be around.

    Fallout: New Vegas preview

QOUTE PYRAMIDE Correct me if I'm wrong but don't both the Liberty Prime and Behemoth fights "choices" involve something along the lines of: Do this or you can't progress with the main story? You don't really get a choice to NOT side with the BoS and let them just take down the Behemoth...

    Fallout: New Vegas stuff

"Paper has TWO sides? You lost me." The blinged out pip boy is fine, I can deal with that. And I felt that as a whole radio stations were a good IDEA that just needed to be implemented a little differently.

    History of NMA

I think the very first time I came across this site was hmm... '04? I would check it out every couple of months, read a couple forum posts and some news and then forget about it. When FINO was announced I remembered the site and came back to check it out, after reading and reading posts for...

Fallout: New Vegas unimpressive at E3 2010 Best Of lists

They talked about the things that interest them. also I'm surprised that NV didn't get more love. Sure there was nukes in FO3s showing. But NV has SPACE BEAMZ and MACHINE GUN GRENADE LAUNCHRZ

Swing Era/Big Band music and Fallout

Apparently the original version of the Thanks for the Memory song was sung by Bob Hope. But I kind of like the Benny Goodman version better.

I think Bethesda can sue you now for leaking their design philosophy.

Wow that is an amazingly perfect one. I can already imagine a video using it. I mean to be honest this song is better than ANY of my picks O_O Here is what I picture when I listen to it. Watching the world go by - Picture of the pre-war world under a sunny sky - the picture suddenly...

Gamespot's Fallout: New Vegas Demo at E3

O I totally agree, he doesn't come off as nearly as much of an egotistical fratboy d-bag. In all fairness though, the only person you probably could stand next to Todd Howard and not go 'this guy's quite pleasant compared to Todd' is Robert Kotick.

Gamespot's Fallout: New Vegas Demo at E3

I know its petty and shallow but every time the guy refered to the work Obsidian did as 'We' even though he works for Bethesda (who SUPPOSEDLY had a relatively SMALL hand in the development of FO:NV) it bugs the crap out of me. That being said, the 3rd person view looks BETTER but still...
