Pissed off by aliens (and liking it)

100+ hours? That must be a lie. It only took me 11 hours or so to get to vomit time. "...little moments of insight into the human condition..." = "Damn, this game is almost as stupid as real life. Immersion FTW!"

Todd Howard at QuakeCon: Half of Fallout 3 got cut

Even the best MMORPGs tend to revolve around k.e.w.l. loot and playing dress-up. FO3 is pretty much there already, which doesn't make much sense for a single-player game. Going online is a logical step. After all, what's the point of k.e.w.l. loot if you can't show it off to other idiots like...

    Rage trailer

Do you really believe that? It's coming out on the X360 and PS3, so they're intending to reach a very wide audience. Deep RPG ≠ mainstream appeal. The parent company is EA, and their track record speaks for itself. The trailers haven't shown anything special yet. Maybe they're withholding...

    Rage trailer

We won't see any serious AAA RPGs anymore. The best they can do is stuff like Divinity 2, Mass Effect and Dragon Age, which are mostly action with some character upgrades and dialogue thrown in. Rage is a pure FPS. Not surprisingly, it reminds me more of Quake/Doom than FO3. Id's games are...

Patches updated, Fallout Restoration Mod announced

It's unfortunate that there are very few (one?) modders for FO1 when FO2 gets so much attention. FO1 is the superior game in my view, though it definitely suffers from being too short. The story is actually believable, unlike FO2, which is a mish-mash of some pretty goofy stuff.

    Fireside Chat

I agree with this for the most part, and yet alec has a few good points. Anything with audio/visual elements does to some extent remove visualization and imagination from the process. The advantage of gaming media over books is that it allows for a non-linear storyline, C&C, where different...

Brian Mitsoda announces DoubleBear, Zombie RPG

Vampires and zombies are all too common in real life as it is. The vampires control the money supply, the central banks, the corporations, the media, and the zombie public consumes mindlessly. We're already living that game.

    Caleb Cleveland's non-FOOL FOOL art

Yep, the first armor looks very similar to Beth's version. The third armor looks pretty good, though the legs are way too skinny for the upper body. It's a bit unbalanced.

    Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta reviews

Only one question remains: How low can they go before the majority of people actually stand up and say 'No, we're not going to take this anymore!'? Is there a limit, or can humanity descend into the abyss of total unconsciousness? While indeed, this is only a game, it's still a fairly good...

    Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta reviews

Or maybe it's being done intentionally to lower people's standards, expectations and IQs by making shit and getting them to accept it as something good and desireable.

    Mothership Zeta released

You think these are mistakes? At this point, I've come to the conclusion that it's all very much intentional. It's like someone shooting a person multiple times in the head, dismembering their corpse, covering the remains in shit, pouring gasoline on top of the pile, setting it on fire, throwing...

Mothership Zeta trailer and dev diary

FO3 is like high fructose corn syrup. No matter how fat and stupid it makes you, you just can't stop eating.

    Interviews, Jeff Gardiner, Mothership Zeta

I have no problem with the general concept of ETs or EDs (extradimensionals), or the use of such concepts in games. But it doesn't belong in the Fallout universe. And not in the utterly stupid, cliche and overblown way they're doing it. I guess the kiddies don't get subtlety.

DLC - What is it good for?

It's actually 'I couldn't care less'. If you could care less, it means you still care about it to some extent. Unless that's what you meant, of course. Anyway, everybody has free will. We can't force others to do or not do something. I suppose you could argue that subliminal programming...

DLC - What is it good for?

Exactly true. If they can get idiots to pay for this nasal drip, whose fault is that?

Completed "My life is so sad I actually 'paid' for and completed this POS just to get more gamer points" Worth 666 gamer points.

Book of Eli PA movie trailer

But V's fight scenes were actually good, unlike what I just saw in this trailer. There was also intelligence to be found, and this... doesn't look too likely.

    The Escapist: Junktown Dog

You'd probably have to use the open/close combat exploit to do that, unless you avoid or talk your way out of the major fights.

    A Zeta perk

It sounds like DE:IW's universal ammo or Mass Effect's bio-gel, or whatever it was called. It's really just an excuse to simplify things for the kiddies.
