Interplay reopens in-house studio, hires Jason D. Anderson

Has anybody considered the possibility that Jason Anderson is "on the payroll" while still doing whatever he was doing (real estate, wasn't it)?. He could be working up some ideas at home instead of disrupting his life to go work for Herve.

    Shelter: a post-nuclear roleplaying game

Much respect for the work behind this. Looks like a fantastic start. These indie turn-based games are more interesting than the AAA multiplatform junk clogging the store shelves.

The difference is, they are not calling the konsole version Civ V.

    Fallout's 10th anniversary: Inside the Vault Q&A

Then make that "PC gaming mags" to rule out the console crapanese games. BTW, I noticed that I referred incorrectly to Bloody Mess as a perk instead of a trait. Let the flames begin :P As for the Bloody Mess ending, you can get that a couple other ways, too, according to Per's...

    Fallout's 10th anniversary: Inside the Vault Q&A

Bloody Mess is a worthless perk. It doesn't affect your character development, combat abilities, skills, stats, etc. It's purely cosmetic. Of course it would be the favorite part of Fallout for Bethesda.

"My precious" - GFW on fans, industry and media

This post is broght to you by Macallan Single Malt Scotch The Xbox is the worst thing to ever happen to PC gaming. It used to be that console games and PC games were well separated and each group of gamers got what they wanted. There were PC ports of some console games (most crap, some good)...

Fallout's 10th anniversary: Eddie Rainwater profile

Sorry this is off topic, but I've got to ask. BN - where is that pic in your sig from?

    X-Box says Fallout 3 for 2!

If the unlicensed image is promptly taken down in response to Defonten's request, I don't know if he will have any grounds for a lawsuit. Whoever put the pic up can just say "My bad, we didn't realize we shouldn't use that pic. We took it down as soon as we knew." If they do take it down...

    X-Box says Fallout 3 for 2!

How is VATS going to work in Co-op? Do they really expect one X-Boxtard to sit and wait for another X-Boxtard to queue up actions? Won't that break teh immurzun?

    .223 pistol origins

I will admit that even though I have Blade Runner on DVD, I have only watched it twice, and I did not make the connection between the .233 handgun in Fallout and Bladerunner. Until I saw the .233 pic from Fallout in the article, I hadn't even noticed the dual triggers. Thanks for the...

PC Gamer UK on NMA and AoD

On the topic of cartridges, calibers, etc, I always found it odd that the hunting rifle in Fallout was .223 and the .223 handgun was more powerful than, say, 44 mag, 45 ACP, and 10mm. My own hunting rifle is .270 and the state in which I was raised does not allow deer hunting with any caliber...

PC Gamer UK on NMA and AoD

I played Fallout shortly after its release, and bought Fallout 2 (which included Fallout) pretty close to release. I played Fallout Tactics and enjoyed it (though I'm replaying it now and it's a bit tedious). I lurked NMA for years before I finally registered (after Bethesda had bought the...

    ActionTrip interviews Gavin Carter

We've seen polygon gibbing since Quake. Now we have polygon gibbing with volumetric particle-based blood mist. Woot. It is damn near impossible for Beth to come up with polygon gibbing so radically different from what we've seen in the last 10+ years that it will matter to anybody but konsole...

How 2K Games And Bioshock Took Back The West

I use a lot of no cd/dvd cracks. I use them for just about every game that I BUY, because I A) Don't want to screw with swapping discs and risk losing/damaging them (which has happened more than once before) B) Own more than one computer that I play games on, and like to take my...

Herve Caen sees bright times ahead for Interplay

Interplay is a cautionary tale of what can happen when: 1. You rely on licenses for games instead of original IP. 2. You disregard the PC to focus on console games and gamers. 3. You let an absolute moron invest in the company and he takes over management responsibilities.

Ron Burke answers Fallout 3 questions

I think that was a shot at Bethesda's lack of communication rather than at you. You're on Bethesda's forum using your memory and notes on Bethesda's game demo to answer questions about Bethesda's game. Meanwhile, the Bethesda developers/PR staff who have the actual hard info are doing a poor...

    Fallout 3 at E3 - Kotaku

If you're good enough at head shots and mini games you won't need any skills, and can play through the entire game without any of that slow, boring character development shit. I'm waiting to find out how Bethsoft is going to bypass dialog.
