    Little Big Planet

I just yesterday finished the preloaded levels. It was amazing. I loved pretty much every second. Intense and chronic jaw dropage throughout. No game in a long time had me toiling to show off to the family what I was playing. Every two minutes. The soundtrack is fantastic as well. It's a...

Witcher Sells One Mil Copies, Still To Break Even

I'm not certain how much they sold in Poland, but they were their own publishers in most of central Europe.

    CanardPC's almost-review

Wait, so what copy did they base their extensive preview on? Was that from one of Beth's 15-hr "review" sessions?

    Fallout 3 & SecuROM

I quite frankly think it was a screw up on the part of the marketing dept. And a big one at that, I wouldn't mind seeing some heads roll. I fail to believe that they'd be such pernicious bastards to outright lie about DRM, or any other technical (read: not subject to "opinion") aspect of their...

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #8

BN it's (it was) like 4-o-clock in the Europes. I, perhaps quite naively, always expect the more "respectable" mass media outlets (e.g. The Telegraph), to give slightly more... sophisticated critiques of the games they "review". Alas, the opposite often seems to be true (with...

    Buy the originals!

I've done a full playthrough of each game (Tactics excluded) on Vista (albeit 32bit) and never experienced that problem. Granted they're rather pixelated when blown up to modern resolutions, but that's about the extent of it. Did you launch them in compatibility mode?

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #4

I wouldn't necessarily label it a bias, as much as an inclination to award triple A titles higher scores than they realistically deserve, a shortsightedness more than a partiality.

    Buy the originals!

 I've been holding off because I have all three, though the original only in Polish, if it'll support NMA, I might get Numero Uno once more for the "definitive" experience. Been some time. (Unless someone knows of a free 'Englifying' patch)

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #4

Reviews generally should serve the purpose of helping you decide on a potential difference. Nobody wants a cat in a bag. But nowadays (did you read the Eurogamer one?!) they tend to offer little trustworthy guidance. I'm guessing the game's not a complete piece of turd, those millions must...

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #3

    Technically, 4/5 (GiantBomb) is 80%.

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #1

Actually I found very little criticism in the Eurogamer review. No complaints about wacky animations, pathfinding problems, general ai issues or the voice-overs, besides stating that its way better than Oblivion's. And everybody seems to positively love VATS.

    Students of Fallout

I think what Ausir was referring to were the---from today's point of view---awkward, and unintuitive game play mechanics. I tried playing Wasteland myself a few years ago, but the design was so archaic that to me it was borderline incomprehensible. Sure, I had no manual to help me out, but it...

PSM3 Fallout 3 review, not impressed with PS3 version

So how exactly do they still qualify it as a 90/100 Reviews quite often seem to exist in a divergent reality from their respective scores. I sometimes wonder what the value of a scaled system score is.

    GamingExcellence previews Fallout 3

In the originals the vulnerability of the eyes was compensated (maybe not fully) by them being very hard to hit. In "3" you don't even have the option to shoot at the eyes.

    The SIMPLE License

I know. But like I said it was especially flexible and easy to understand, AND comprehensive. I think Fallout was the first "real" rpg I played. Apart from my general dislike of fantasy, I didn't get into Baldur's Gate et cetera because of how intimidating and unintuitive the system was. (Sorry...

    The SIMPLE License

I checked the relevant "Vault" literature, but found nothing. I was wandering whether the SPECIAL system is now licensed to, or an intellectual property of Bethesda, since they employed some mutilation of it in FO3. Is there at all a license to SPECIAL, or is it some kind of informal...

    Russia vs. Georgia

Well I didn' say notin' 'bout the legitimacy of the US or Israel. Americans pretty much butchered anybody that could lay a claim on their soil. With Israel, on the other hand, don't tell me there aren't similar problems. I have to agree that half a millenium (really that long? --actually...

    Russia vs. Georgia

I always find discussing such conflicts without a proper grasp in the history and culture of the area, an obviously bad thing. Its easy to support a side for the wrong (or no) reasons, getting caught up in the bare-bones black and white media brouhaha portrayal of the conflict. (So naturally...
