I think on those occasions a corpse is hit. Not sure though... just the way I see it. And, sometimes corpses provide cover so it would be logical that they are hit, thus providing the information on the message box. The cover effect can clearly be seen especially if fighting big monsters like...

I've observed this thread from the shadows for some time, and I would like to ask that have you already implemented the armor fixes; for example the combat leather jacket having two sleeves? Glad to hear that the ground item art is progressing though! :ok:
