Shacknews Impressions and Vault Dweller's Guide Scans

Now I know where the stupid idea of pretending that exploding cars/killing teddy bears/anything stupid isn't included in game came from.

    Extra traits

It would be interesting idea that good nature would make impossible to advance above some level in combat skills. Then this trait would have really significant influence on game style.

"Evil" as it is presented in the modern storylines

Nameless One from Planescape: Torment can be role-played in this way. I tried it after being inspired by his previous incarnation (who was the most evil bastard I've ever seen in any game, book or movie... and everybody followed him) and it worked. There aren't many cruel things you can do in...

Regarding three silly reasons that Fallout 3 is Stupid.

No, just think about it. It's "Enclave" - named because they had their main base on the oil rig. There may be some other remnants of American government but why would they call themselves Enclave?

The journey of The_Poorman to Uber Tristram

It is possible to get from level 1 to 95 in about 2-2.5 hour. You just need high level team to take you to UT and you wait here when they are dealing with summoned monsters. I know, it's really stupid idea but some players find it useful.

Regarding three silly reasons that Fallout 3 is Stupid.

Danger - spoiler! Reading may ruin your unique experience of playing Fallout 3 for the first time (but you'll probably lose your mental health while reading so it won't really matter)! [spoiler:856cfe2b31]It is top secret information but I know this from reliable source: Master is the ending...

Explosions of screenshots straight to your eyes!

The gun model look is not important flaw when it's held by a person with both hands crippled :( . Don't be so cruel. Why do you demand logical thinking from guys whose first think when playing an RPG is to look for somebody to kill (we can see it in most of previews)?

Fallout 3 playable to the public at PAX

Of course PA is very popular. They have such a good marketing - many developers are promoting them and even think it's the opposite, that PA are the ones who support their games. I wish I'd be as smart as guys from Benny Arcade...

Fallout 3 to be censored in Germany

So if a game shows that you can shoot to your friend and nothing will happen to him is less harmful than the original version of HL? I think you must be a politic to devise something so stupid. Does it concern only computer games or (e.g.) actress playing Lady Macbeth has to scream: "Oh...

    A Few Intriuging Concepts

Actually, what I remember is that BoS was pretty sure nobody can go to the Glow and come back (they've had sent some own men before). They told VD to go there just because he insisted on joining them that they thought it would be a good way to get rid of him.

The Three Questions from "Holy Grail"

Is "no" an answer to this question? Do you gnarg? What can you find on 136 page of Great Magic Book of Hamsters and Weasels?

    Fallout 3 LGC: MTV Multiplayer

Yes, you're right. It is an RPG. But it is also a work of art. In terms of having fun only it's great for a game to be as non-linear and offer you as many threads as possible. On the other hand, there is such thing like message. Like "what did the author have in mind?". The main idea of...

Fallout 3 looks majorly disappointing from demo clips

But there is a huge difference for players who want to role-play. And the basis of Fo is to be a simulation of p'n'p experience. People on the wastes might not treat your character differently whether he's pure good, only want money from them and is rude unless he helps them for whatever the...

    Fallout 3 LGC: MTV Multiplayer

It doesn't matter how high is your skill with big guns. Even the smallest nuclear bomb should be more than enough to destroy entire town (for town's as big as this in Fo3). If a bomb is to small there won't be a chance for a start of uncontrolled chain nuclear reaction so it wouldn't explode...

    Fallout 3 at LGC: UGO

PA does have a filtration system. It would be strange if it couldn't stop something as simple as drug. Gamma rays can easily get through leaded plate (for 662 keV rays will lose half intensity after 6,35 cm [about 2,5 inches]). Gas molecules can't do this because it consist of extremely big...

Does Fallout 3 meet the criteria to be called Fallout?

Lets see: Fallout didn't have an ideal combat system. It had combat system which perfectly suited to the priorities of designers what is always far better in art than "this is more popular this days so it will sell" explanation. One example - Planescape: Torment. The most immersive game...

    Fallout 3 screenshots galore

Cannibalism doesn't make sense because your character doesn't need to eat anything. If there was starving implemented in the game* it would fit greatly: there isn't much food in postapocalyptic world so you eat all you can maintain. Now it is only for fun of player and if anybody is finding it...

    Fallout 3 screenshots galore

This picture's title (Tesla, inventor of the glowing pearl) is an unnecessary irony. The "glowing pearl" is actually supposed to be a ball lightning. It is a reference to one of thousands rumours about the famous scientist. It has it that at a party in Tesla's house he not only showed to all...
