Funny and Stark Example of Beth's Laziness...

I don't think anyone is "flipping out." And I'm not bashing FO3, I've put a lot of hours into playing it and I wouldn't be spending my time with it if I wasn't enjoying it. But I find the rigidity of the main questline frustrating. It isn't just about invicible NPCs, it's about the feeling...

    Favorite Locations

I liked Dunwich but I was surprised I couldn't find the book after I killed Jaime. Or did I just overlook it? I liked both of the museums, the feeling of finding Abraham Lincolns rifle was nice. Evergreen Falls was fun not so much for the location but because I enjoyed hunting the raiders...

Funny and Stark Example of Beth's Laziness...

First off, what if I wanted to kill my father for abandoning me? And secondly, I wasn't reffering so much to that you couldn't skip parts of the main quest, I've been doing it all sorts of out of order. I'm just reffering to the fact that certain aspects of it CAN'T be done differently no...

Shouldn't radiation threats be high? (at least in FO3)

You'll have fun in the Glow ;) Though honestly I think FO3 did a better job of representing the fact that radiation is a factor in everything, from the water to the food to the ground you walk on in some areas. Radiation wasn't as commonly encountered in FO1/2 except in some areas. It's...

    Slavery in Fallout 3

I haven't messed around much with the mezzer much this playthrough (being a good guy this time.) I plan to experiment much more extensively next time  It wouldn't make much sense to get negative karma for enslaving an evil character. I would think it would balance out to nothing...

My Two Cents - An Overly Long Comparison Piece

Not really, if you get in close with a combat shotgun you can take them down two or three hits usually. Actually the same can be said for just about everything. I think the most challenging enemy I've found in the so far are the Deathclaw (finally found some) and the sentry bot. That missle...

Funny and Stark Example of Beth's Laziness...

I thought it had been earlier established that Todd was far from the "father of Elder Scrolls" If I recall he was more along the lines of the "coffee bitch". And back to the subject once again of unkillable NPCs I'm reminded of the last great TES game, Morrowind. You could kill whoever you...

    Slavery in Fallout 3

Just out of curiosity, did you get a negative karma hit for enslaving the Talon Merc since he's already "evil"?

The obligatory Fallout 3 : Radiant AI hilarity thread

Actually I can verify that. Walking back to Megaton near Grayditch I was stopped by a loser who tried to mug me. I had the option to use perception and accuse him of having an unloaded gun. He took off running. Worst mugger ever.

I usually drag the body off the bed before I sleep in it but that's just me.

    Stuck...

I've been stuck a few times. Easiest way to get unstuck is to fast travel to the nearest location. As long as you aren't over burdened you can fast travel. Sometimes being hit by an enemy will knock you loose so I imagine you could try to knock yourself loose with a grenade or rocket...

Launching the ICBM, getting ahead of game?

[spoiler:1296ed2131]The Ghoul who wants the keys is Crowley in Underworld. He'll try to get you to kill three men (four including Tenpenny who doesn't have a key) and bring back "special keys" as proof they're dead. If you talk to them first and pass some speech challenges you learn the...

How do I use Mezmatron on Susan Lancastor without alerts?

I let the ghouls into Tenpenny Tower first and lost my chance to get Susan but I had the same problem with Red in Big Town. I found mezzing her in her house and then sneaking outside to fast travel elsewhere worked like a charm.

Lesson Learned: Being a Wastelander Sucks

Today I was looting a gas station when suddenly a flaming wastelander ran right into me and dropped dead. A raider with a flamer showed up right behind her and seemed just as surprised to see me. The level of chaos in the wasteland feels realistic and is one of the things I think BethSoft...

I *know* WHY Fallout 3 sucks! (descriptions)

Closely related to the lack of descriptions is something that bugs me possibly more and I'm surprised no one else has brought this up yet (or if they have I missed it and I apologize.) Why bother having a system (VATS) that uses action points if AP use isn't a stat on weapons? I noticed...

Show us where your avatar is taken from

Taken from a screenshot of one of the loading screens from FO1. That screenshot has done duty as my wallpaper off and on since I played the first Fallout in various modified forms. It's always been one of my favorite pics of Vault Boy.

    Fallout 3 Power Armor

I haven't been trained in wearing PA in FO3 yet but I was appalled at how easy it was to lay waste to a patrol of Brotherhood Outcasts. Small arms and melee weapons? I figured it had to be crappy equipment on their part so the next time I saw an BoS soldier I capped him in the head with a...

    SPECIAL in F3 - same as F1 and 2?

There are also some quest related perks and items that can boost your SPECIAL stats.

    Fallout 3 Power Armor

This is something that had always bugged me even in the original FO. At the very least men and women shouldn't be able to swap PA but that would have severely limited what a female PC could use. As you said, allowances need to be made for game play.
