    Bottlecaps?

I also like how they screw with your view of what's "junk" and what's not. For example I love the Nuka grenades so now I grab tin cans which I had completely ignored earlier. And other random junk like pre war books, sugar bombs and even scrap metal have people who will make it worth your...

    Radiation!

Heh, I remember standing in the Glow, soaking up rads for the old 1.0 Brotherhood Dr. glitch and wondering why Ian and Dogmeat werent glowing in the dark yet.

    GameZone interviews Inon Zur

I have to agree the soundtrack is weak. I like the main theme and that's about it. Shortly after leaving the vault I turned the music slider all the way down and listened to GNR. Then I got tired of Three Dog recapping the same three new pieces over and over and stopped listening to that...

    Better Power Armor

At the very least it should compensate for its own weight while you have it equipped.

    Places *not* to go.

Is there a quest to go with the Red Racer tricycle factory or the Hubris Comic Company? I just explored both this afternoon and other than some decent salvage it didn't seem worth the effort. I expected to get some sort of Quest note when I killed the crazy guy in the foremans office over the...

Found another questionable use of "Child at Heart." In Rivet City the drunkards brat will steal ammo for you if you dare him. So far I'm really not impressed with this perk but I haven't been to Little Lamplight yet either.

    Powerful weapons in FO3...

And I STILL haven't seen a Deathclaw. (And I'm level 13 now...) When I finally do kill one I'm going to drag the damn body all the way to my house in Megatown and display it. Probably on the workbench next to where I keep Lincolns rifle (now shot to uselessness) I'll be damned if I'm...

    Powerful weapons in FO3...

That was a pretty intense moment. It was also the first time I used the Nuka Cola grenade. VATS may have its negatives but watching the Nuka grenade go off in slow mo is EPIC.

I scouted for Little Lamplight around Bigtown after returning Red and Shorty but got distracted and moved on (I started Agatha's song quest). Approximately how close to Bigtown is Little Lamplight? (And in what direction?)

[spoiler:1f98a109e2]If you had resolved the problem peacefully you get the schematics so you can make that sword yourself. [/spoiler:1f98a109e2]

I found the merchant you mentioned, I must have missed him back there in his little corner the first time I was down there or maybe he was closed at the time. I'm enjoying the recon armor with the +5 sneak that he had. :D

I did the Quest linked to Arefu and got the perk but I don't think I got a trading hub opened. [spoiler:9fa3d97598]I got The Family to protect Arefu in exchange for donated blood and Ian returned to his parents home. Which outcome did you get?[/spoiler:9fa3d97598]

The Mirelurk location did some have some motorcycle gas tanks, I tend to remember where I picked those up because I like the Shishkabob. Did you find a use for the old chick hanging out by Whilhems Wharf right near the Mirelurk lair? Other than helping the Talon Mercs in the area find you...

Yea, I've always had them ambush me unprovoked.

I took it. You can also get a key to a locked dumpster from the kid in the "Those!" quest. It has some good gear but it's nothing amazing. I'm a little dissapointed in it as a perk but I'm hoping it will open up some more stuff when I get to that one town that has nothing but kids in it.

I first encountered them while walking past the trainyards just north of Big Town. They seem to wait just outside subway and sewer entrance/exits to ambush you when you come out or bushwhack you on your way in. [spoiler:b56bc1a99b]The thing I like most about the Talon Crew is that their...

    What am I doing 'wrong'?

As already said, travelling merchants can be run into almost anywhere. They seem to stop by the entrance to towns or settlements and wait for a day or two then move on to the next town. I've seen them outside Paradise Falls, Rivet City, Megaton and Big Town. Rivet City has a bunch of...

I just realized I really shouldn't have posted this here. It's a perk thread and I'm talking about skill based dialog options, my bad.

    *sigh* NPC level scaling

Based on what I've seen so far, enemy types are pretty consistently located in certain areas with random encounters thrown in for variety. The ruins south of Grayditch for example, I normally seem to run into raiders. If I head to the south east corner of the map super mutants are much more...

Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

Figured I'd pop in and say hello. I've been playing Fallout since the original demo and used to stop in and see NMA now and again way back when. Finally decided to join up. *waves*
