    Sorry, I don't know then. I just did the same thing, made a blank map and "saved as" and it was there in C:\Program Files\BlackIsle\Fallout2\data\maps along with the .cfg file it creates. Did you look in the folder manually? Maybe Explorer hides file types it cannot recognise?

    If it's a .GCD file, don't put it in data, put it in the main folder where you find 'fallout2.exe' It should then show up when you select "create a new character" and "load"

    The mapper is probably reading the files from master.dat which can't just be explored without additional programs. If you save a map, it should create a file located at 'C:\Program Files\BlackIsle\Fallout2\data\maps' if you didn't mess with the configuration file.

    That will fix the problem, but I believe the 2.33 version of Megamod is using an older version of SFall that does not have that option yet. Some of you are probably smart (or daring) enough to update it, but I'll wait until MIB88 includes it in the next release. 8-)

    @ Ediot, For your item list, you could try to compare 'PRO_ITEM.MSG' (in Data\text\english\game folder) with an unmodded version to see what has been added. It does not give any indication of what is different however.

    It's still weird that it took so long to find. I left the home town of said NPC by car, headed straight for the computer to get the location, and had the special encounter before I got there. Would be interesting to know what variables are involved, and how long it takes me next time playing.
