Fallout Shelter makes over $5 million

Because most smartphone users only want to pay a couple of dollars at the most for their apps and games. How many would have payed 50$ to play Fallout 3 on a 5 inch screen without mouse/keyboard or any mods?

Elements and ideas Fallout 4 should take over from Fallout New Vegas

Actually Oblivion and later games do take witnesses into account. They just had a minor bug in that animals were considered witnesses too. I think they found and fixed that bug some time after FO3.

Directors cut editions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas for the new Fallout 4 engine?

I think players seriously under-estimate how much time and effort it takes to do a full conversion. It has been tried since Oblivion came out and so far none of those conversions has become complete. It's like moving out of an old apartment on your own. When you think you're almost done you're...

    New enemies in future Fallouts

    Giant-sized armadillos.

Anyone else tired of the old factions?

A lot of armies around the world had infantry fitted with bicycles until they got replaced with cars, motorcycles or armored vehicles. Bikes don't need to be refueled and do allow you to cover a greater distance.

Putting an NMA bar in Wasteland 2 (goal reached!)

There's no need for wipping today. :) I did save my letters from Paypal, ChipIn and NMA about the bar donation. I don't suppose there's someplace I could send them/upload easily without making them available to the whole internet? Oh and put "Dusty Mike" on da list.

    Fallout 3 (almost) drops GfWL

It all depends on how much work they're willing to do. They will either make something simple like Xliveless (Which I thought everyone installed anyway for Fallout 3), or make it a steamworks-game with steam achievements and trading cards. Fallout 3 doesn't have any multiplayer options.:look:

    Fallout Franchise Gone from GOG

Well, Bethesda did pay a nice amount for the fallout name and stuff. Sure Interplay might have wished for more but they didn't seem that discontent at the time. Too bad they messed up with that deal for an fallout-MMO but without any right to put any fallout-stuff in the game. :wiggle: That...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I've been slogging through FF8 for a week now. About halfway through. Back in the day I only tried the FF8 demo so this game was always that game that I never actually got to play. Didn't like Squall at first since he's so quirky and anti-social but now I like that since it's a nice change of...

More Fallout 4 rumoring from Kotaku

Aren't "Encouraging Skepticism" NMA-Fallout's default stance on any Fallout-sequel news since the first one? With varying degrees of encouragement of course. ;) One detail I like, erhm I mean "remain hopeful about", is that the game is NOT set 300+ years after the war. The destroyed buildings &...

    So I finally bought Skyrim...

Bethesda did a good job to balance the justifications of both factions. In my current playthrough I went with the empire for all the right reasons. Tiber Septim did pretty well as dragonborn.... ;> Well... the civil war quest line desperately needs a whole DLC. Especially the later stages...

    So I finally bought Skyrim...

High level encounters are a bit boring unless you install mods. Just like in FO3/Oblivion/F:NV it takes ways too many hits to kill a high level creature. A lvl 90 rat would probably bore you to death unless you nuke it with an elder scroll... about 25 times or so. Thankfully there are several...

Bethesda files for European Fallout 4 trademark

Be careful what you wish for.... other big publishers would have pushed out a couple of isometric turn-based fallout games for mobiles and surf pads if they had owned the franchise. Maybe yearly updates or in episodes. Complete with dozens of DLC packs. ;) However, I hope Bethesda or some...

Joel Burgess and Nathan Purpkeypile on Level Design at GDC

I seem to remember some fan discussions that Skyrim was a smaller game then Oblivion, which in turn was smaller then Morrowind. Not sure how accurate that was though.

Joel Burgess and Nathan Purpkeypile on Level Design at GDC

I appreciate that Bethesda tried to make vast games like Skyrim/Oblivion/Fallout 3+. They do feel cramped though. In Fo3 you had farmers living a 2 minute walk away from a gang of Super-mutant. Sure, it would have been nicer if there was a lot more empty space between locations so the world...

Moments: Becoming A Wasteland Warrior In Fallout 3

But I don't remember Fallout 1/2 being that full of 50's feeling as FO3. Sure some of the tech may have been inspired by the designs used in the 50's but most of the Fo1/2 tech felt more like something from the early 70's. The surviving mainframes/computers were either some forgotten military...

    No Mutants Allowed front-page redesign

Geez, you're trying to give me a heart-attack or someting? My first reactions were: "Who are you, and why have you stolen the nma website?" ;) You could have given us a heads-up on the news page yesterday so some of us wouldn't have been caught completely unaware. I do miss Marcus at the...

    Wasteland 2 Kickstarter Update #9

I like the new all-digital 55$ tier reward. I had pledged 50$ originally but only chosen the 35$ reward as I didn't want to wait (and pay) for over-seas shipping + E.C. toll rates + VAT. Digital soundtrack + novellas sounds really nice. Early beta would probably also be nice but I don't want...

    Wasteland Update #6, $1.5M passed

Some mod-tools would be really nice. Games like Deus Ex: HR and Mass Effect 3 would be played a lot longer if the community could easily change or add new content. Sure, a lot of mods will just be plain silly or otherwise useless but I'm replaying ME2 right now and would almost pay for mods...

Putting an NMA bar in Wasteland 2 (goal reached!)

I was thinking of raising my WL2 pledge just to see if there'd really be a linux version so donating to a NMA-bar contributes to both causes. Even if the WL2 linux version is lost like the UT3 linux version I'll have a nice comfy bar in WL2 to drown my sorrows.
