The deathclaws aren't impossible or even really that difficult to get around if you know what you're doing. I like it when RPGs have areas that are dangerous to explore until you're more powerful anyways though.

I hated Raul but not as a character. I just remember doing his long ass sidequest to unlock his bandito uniform or whatever it was called then the game bugged and he never unlocked it after the quest was completed. Never used him as a companion again.

The OVA was the original Bubblegum Crisis, Tokyo is a retelling of it. I haven't actually seen Tokyo so I don't know much about it except that it takes place a decade later than the OVA for some reason and it isn't supposed to be as good.

Cazadores got nerfed with the patches anyways, iirc they were a lot more deadly when the game first came out.

If you like sci-fi/robots I'd also recommend Gunbuster (6 ep. OVA), Bubblegum Crisis (8 ep. OVA), Giant Robo (13 ep. OVA), and Infinite Ryvius (26 ep. series). idk how many of those you've already seen but they're all pretty good.
