    Which Fallout Was Better? (2018)

I did. Overall I'd consider it a tie with the first game. Fallout has better fiction and is tighter and more cohesive as a whole, but there's just more to play in 2 whilst not being substantially different. And while the game has some of the worst ideas in the whole series.... like talking...

    Karma system (Needed or wasted)

I don’t think karma is a waste. I think it just needs to be mechanically more interesting (and perhaps more ’active’ as a mechanic). I always wished karma would be something that guided the PC towards certain kinds of behavior instead of simply being the reaction from the world. It makes more...

Why is Fallout 3 called "Oblivion with guns"?

Someone back in the day (2008) made a short video comparison on why 'Oblivion with guns'. It of course only touches few surface level things, but it's a good start. The rest comes naturally once one's able to get a grasp on the most obvious.

None of which were ever called for in Fallout.

Why is Fallout 3 called "Oblivion with guns"?

It does look that way, doesn't it? The game gives that impression. But it isn't the case. It's been a heavy point of contention for years that Fallout 3 takes place 200 years after the war and the place is still in the shape it is. Fallout 2 is 36 years earlier in the timeline. Basic dates. And...

Why is Fallout 3 called "Oblivion with guns"?

No it is not, it can't be. It's too different (in all possible ways) compared to the original material than what Fallout 2 is. There's no (or very very loose at best) continuation of any kind in mechanics, narrative or the experience. Whether you like one or the other better is your business and...

Why is Fallout 3 called "Oblivion with guns"?

They changed everything that mattered, everything aside from a superficial theme. In hindsight I would wager a low budget studio would have done a better job at making a Fallout game than what Bethesda did regardless of what individual merits Bethesda might've had at the time. And I wouldn't...

It is a bad thing in this context.

Why is Fallout 3 called "Oblivion with guns"?

You haven't noticed the similiarities in mechanics, playability, interfaces, intended core experience, animations, worldbuilding.... that might have led to the moniker (and it is quite accurate.... if you swapped Fallout coat in Fallout 3 to that of TES fantasy, you'd have a genuine TES game)...

Bethesda: Save the Single Player games

Showcasing how the advances in technology allow for so much more meaningful interactivity and reactivity than in the crummy 90's. That is Fallout at its peak. There is some nice symbolism in putting garbagecans over the NPC's, and covering things with garbagecans in the first place.

Which ethnic and cultural groups have had it the worst on Earth?

It's quite often been the reasonable people of any culture or ethnicity who just want to live their lives that get mangled one way or another between the fights of the polarized religions/politics/movements, left and right. That's not a specific group as requested in the OP, but I don't care.

    Cyberpunk 2077

The market is already driving me away fast, so I'm not too concerned about that. I'll likely not be around when that happens. I do wish, though, that some day I'll know how to make my own games, kinda like Jeff Vogel. There just never seems to be enough time to self-learn all the finicky techy...

    Cyberpunk 2077

Just based off of Witcher, I'm sceptical about this whole thing - have been since the beginning and even more so after Witcher 3. I suppose what can be guaranteed is a nice storytelling platform, but I fully expect them to fuck up the gameplay & character systems part of it. A fun story that is...

    Some Fallout 5 rumours

Sure. They have their own audience now who will not hesitate a purchase if it's the "Todd Howard variety". :drummer: It's kinda sad, though, that even now when all the bridges have been burned twice, there is still the occasional feel, the tiniest of hopes that maybe something'll flip next time...

Gripes by the Number: New Vegas nonsense

They didn't need a super complex system to become what they are. I've many times seen people claim something to the effect of "if Fallout had combat like Jagged Alliace 2, it would've been so much better", but I don't think that's true. Combat instances would've just become way more heavyhanded...
