Which Fallout has the best music intro?

Fallout 2. But that's probably due to me playing it before the first game. (I do like "A Kiss to Build a Dream On" as a song better than "Maybe", though, so that might do something too.)

Disco Elysium OUT NOW (previously: No Truce With The Furies)

I'm kind of surprised this game isn't getting more discussion than this... It definitely fits the RPG standards of the storyfags, and by mechanics even the combat fags to some sense. What gives?

The Outer Worlds - Early Impressions

I didn't have huge expectations over TOW in the first place, but this sounds... choresome. Although, that second sentence of yours still leaves it unclear if those items would be, if not life savers, helpful for some characterbuilds...that aren't yours.

The Outer Worlds - Early Impressions

Ok, sounds like Skyrim done badly. And Skyrim had a slew problems of it's own already.

The Outer Worlds - Early Impressions

Ok, thanks. That cleared certain things up. Might it be that they just aren't practical for the characterbuild you have, however unclear that might be in the game, or is it a universal thing?

The Outer Worlds - Early Impressions

I haven't played it yet, I will a year from now earliest if I'm still interested, but what I've heard is that: - The character systems look nice, but don't really do anything worthwhile or meaningful (lack of interactivity and impact) - The world is very linear and boring to explore (lack of...

So, did you guys get your New Vegas successor as ordered?

Disco Elysium OUT NOW (previously: No Truce With The Furies)

Very entertaining. I'm not even halfway through yet, but I'm already thinking about "round two" with a different character. Love that the skillchecks actually show the dice too. Also been thinking about how this formula would work in a Cyberpunk setting with a bit wider scope and more "blank...

Broken Roads - Post-Apocalyptic CRPG set in the Land Down Under

Looks pretty nice, actually. I’m kind of tired of seeing that ”empty/half full/full” shield icon and mechanic copypasted in every TB game that gets made these days (same as with the other XCOM lookalikes), but that’s not really a complaint worth pushing forward. I wish someone’d take GTA 2 as...

    OnceLost Games' new project?

The concept they have is actually pretty intriguing. But I doubt they’ll manage to create interesting RPG gameplay or systems since everybody these days seems to want something else (like ”realism(tm) )”.

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

I think the game looks very Bloodlinesy. In a good way. I even like the decision to leave guns as disposable secondary tools (though I still think the should be a skill to govern their accuracy). But I agree with the nitpicks about the NPC’s looking worse and not even close to as lively as they...

Who knows? Maybe they have something like that cooking up.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I thought so. There was some speculation that they might actually have several projects cooking up at the moment due to several people being a ”game director” and due to their project naming (US states) policy that would suggest...was it 4 or 5 (can’t remember) on going ”somethings”. Also...

So why do games have to be political?

Think about it from the perspective watching a good WW2 documentary. It doesn't shy away from explaining and portraying the horrors of war or the atrocities committed there, but it also doesn't make value judgements along the way to caress the viewers possible emotional tenderness or political...

    Unpopular Opinion and Discussion thread

If Limp Bizkit was the only source of music in the world, that song would definitely count among the best there is. The nostalgia is there, for sure. But I kinda never found LB to ever come close to Korn and Jonathan Davis' level of "whininess-made-cool" back in those days. :D
