It all comes tumbling down, tumbling down.

Oh, I knew it! I knew there was a celebration here as soon as I found out about the Metacritic score! I had to come back to see it. Oh, joy! Bethesda's honeymoon is over! Or, at least, it hit a road bump.

    EDGE reminisces on Fallout

In a way, you could say there were some bad intentions. Or at least, some dishonesty. It's obvious that they don't want to make shitty products. But they do want to reach an audience that's as wide as possible. If that implies taking a known franchise and butt-fucking its basic premises and...

    EDGE reminisces on Fallout

I agree with you except for one point: To be, a reboot needs to have a new continuity and cut off ties with the previous one. Other than that, well said :)

    EDGE reminisces on Fallout

Oh, when I said the reboot thing I meant it as a joke :) I agree whole-heartedly with you: It is not a reboot in any way. It's a sequel that missed the sweet spot by a mile or two. I have no problem with moving it to the East Coast. I actually thought it was a good idea, as it gave Bethesda...

    EDGE reminisces on Fallout

Honestly, I felt that back before FO3, the Fallout franchise seemed a bit... forgotten. In my experience, which is far from being representative of reality, only old time RPG fans even knew what it Fallout was. On top of that, after FO3 released, most game journalists seemed to have only a...

    EDGE reminisces on Fallout

Hmm... You didn't notice that I said "if it was a sequel, of course" right at the end, did you? And yes, I agree with your opinion that the Nolan movies are overrated. Not a piece of dung, mind you... But waaaaaay too overrated. Which falls well in line with pretty much all of Nolan's...

    EDGE reminisces on Fallout

So, essentially, Fallout 3 is to Fallout as Batman & Robin would be to The Dark Knight Trilogy (if it was a sequel, of course). Seems to be like that's a nice and accurate way to put it.

    EDGE reminisces on Fallout

Great article! And now I have to play Fallout yet again.

    Dishonored

I agree that the combat is pretty good. Best first person melee combat I've seen since I played Zeno Clash. And regarding said afternoon, I miswrote... It was actually an afternoon and a good part of the evening. Though I must admit I had a lot of free time last Thursday ;)

    Dishonored

I just finished my second playthrough of Dishonored and I guess I was underwhelmed. The biggest problem with the game is that it seems like it could be so much more. In a gameplay perspective, it's fun enough. It reminds me of Thief, which is a good thing. However, I feel like I didn't get...

Fallout 2 creator wants to do a Chrono trigger game? Let him

Well, a couple of years ago, a fan-made non profit 3D remake of the original was shot down by Square. I guess they want to keep the license around so they can keep on making cheap re-releases or something like that.

    All your History: Interplay

Yup, quite informative. I'd love to see a similar interview on Arcanum.

    All your History: Interplay

I just found this series of 3 videos about the rise and fall of Interplay. I'd like to see a more in depth documentary, but it's still an interesting watch. Thought some of you might be interested in watching :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srdR55V7D-s

The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

I guess you could say that. A PG "Twilight zoney" version of Reservoir Dogs.

The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

Hehe, not really all that philosophical. Just fun, to be honest :)

The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

For those who haven't seen it yet, I'd like to recommend a little know movie called The Man from Earth. Basically, for the entire movie, a group of friends are talking to each other during a farewell party for one of them. And that's it. Sounds boring, right? Check it out and tell me what...

    GTA V

I think that 'The Ballad of Gay Tony' actually managed to bring back some of that Vice City feel. Which is the best thing about Vice City. San Andreas surpassed it in every way gameplay wise.

    GTA V

Ah, be still my beating heart. I hope this game is as good as GTA IV :D Talking about GTA IV, any idea why that game gets so much hate? I've seen this posted on another forum and there seems to be a lot of people that can't stand the game. I only became aware of this quite recently.
