    Wasteland 2 Beta Out!

Issue resolved: just switch the global settings to NVIDIA and you're all set. Worked for me, at least. So, I played yesterday quite a bit and I must admit it seems like a quite a robust RPG, promising a lot of depth. And yes, UI needs overhaul, but otherwise I enjoyed it better than I expected.

    Wasteland 2 Beta Out!

Hey! But what's so terribly wrong with the FPS in this beta? The graphics are around 2010, that's ok I can live with that, but with FPS around 10-15 I definitely can't! My GTX 780m can't simply chew up this game. Anyone having the same issue?

Wasteland 2 beta slightly delayed, Fargo says

That's perfectly fine if you ask me.

What makes WL2 a Wasteland game?

Yesterday I've just asked myself: what would make WL2 WL2, other than the word "Wasteland" in the name? Why should not I think that it's just yet another postapoc game? Thinking of this, I tried to figure out which elements defined WL1 for me, and hence which elements would make WL2 really...

Wasteland 2 physically distributed by Deep Silver, screens

Well, even if WL2 fails as a game, I will consider my money as a thank you to the team for tons of fun I've had with WL1 back in the day. Anyway, I would never consider this a bad investment, because from the very start for me it was not an investment at all, but rather an emotional and somewhat...

Wasteland 2 physically distributed by Deep Silver, screens

Well, I must admit that Rick Lion's artwork (especially maps) are much better than what I have seen in WL2. They do have story and life to them, one just needs to pen down the story while simply looking at these maps. Add a fog of war and it's a ready location. Amazing.

    Chris Avellone on Fallout 3

Frankly, the only reasonable explanation I see behind that MCA's statement on F3.

Wasteland (1) too primitive looking? How I got past it

Well, I'm getting your idea. As for me, however, the things are a bit different. I do like ADOM too (yet another ASCII roguelike), but perceiving pseudographics is more aesthetically satisfying, than "true" but extremely outdated visuals. Still, I can play WL1 with no problem, but only...

Newest Wasteland 2 update includes a look at the inventory

I see what you mean - the UI (inventory included) aesthetic look is a very important feature for me too. But, having carefully drawn items (FO1-2 style) would have left us with less items generally. So, we have to deal with the FNV style, which indeed could be compensated by neat descriptions.

Change the Ranger to a Soviet soldier

Man! Soviet avatars in this thread are cool! Hope you don't mind if I take one :)

Fallout 4 rumors of sort & other Fallout tidbits

IIRC, Obsidian wasn't paid whatever they were entitled to by Zenimax due to an insufficient Metacritic score. Therefore, I doubt they will cooperate with Bethesda ever again. Or am I missing out something here?

The Torment Kickstarter was a smashing success!

As long as good games get done on time, I have no problem with that whatsoever. Do you?

The Torment Kickstarter was a smashing success!

Damn straight, I don't care a rat's arse about them kickstarter parties. I only care getting a good game, preceded by regular and meaningful development updates. As for their 200$ contributions, I get it that this sum is not considered for the purposes of the stretch goals. Pity that the...

The Torment Kickstarter was a smashing success!

I'm not sure I'm getting this. Fargo did not participate in the creation of PST franchise at all, if I'm not mistaken. Why not?? :))

Torment: Tides of Numenera Screenshot, FO3 DLC sale

For me, music and ambient sounds are much more preferable over any kind of 3D/2.5D graphics. And the pic looks pretty much Torment'y. That's nice.

    Fallout 3 writing editorial

Nice read, heh heh :) I never cared to delve that deep in finding the FO3 plot inconsitensies. Well, the best thing to mend this would be to rename the game and detach it from the Fallout franchise. It would be easier, anyway, and more honest.

    Shamus Young talks Fallout 3

Captain Obvious to the rescue? Well, I usually omit/forgive those inconsistencies in the games, provided they are fun to play. And FO3 bored the hell outta me after first hour of playing, although I did do a single playthrough within a year or two. One more big thing I was annoyed with...

Dead State combat video released, includes zombies

Dunno how about you, guys, but to my view the zombie genre has been extremely over-exploited. An unbearable 'been there, done that' feeling arises when I see zombies in games or movies. Not even a hint of suspense, fear or even digust. Just plain nothing.
