    Brian Fargo on "social" features

I'm glad I won't follow development too closely. I think there will be way to many instances of: "I put out $1000 for this game and now you are ruining it and I want my money back." Or some such feeling. I think this has the strong potential to get REALLY ugly....

    Rank the DLC's

I'm playing through these for the first time. Finished DM and working thought HH. I'm a little surprised at the love of DM. While the writting was good, it felt like I was playing Bioshock with the retro survival horror and all. It just felt a bit out of place with me...

    Afterfall: Insanity Demo

Takes a long time to download...takes a long time to install....and after 20 minutes of playing...meh. It's a game. Plays similar to Dead Space, but you have even less of a reason to care. Even Isaac was trying to get to his woman...Trying to figure out why a psychiatrist has no issues with...

The Book of Eli in cinemas now

2012 just around the corner I think there will be a greater number of post apoch and end of the world types of movies. Granted my brother believes that this is part of a government conspiracy trying to get people used to the end that is soon to come...LOL

The Book of Eli in cinemas now

Not having seen it, I got more of a vibe of how easy it is to use an icon of 'faith' to be able to lead people, for good or bad purposes. To me it actually would say how religion is a bad thing because it turns people into sheep. I think you all are blowing the religious aspect WAAAAAAYYYY...

    Bethesda: "Something really different"

I tried really hard to like FO3, I really wanted to. But I couldn't. And every DLC has made it that much harder. I am a sad monkey...

    NMA Operation: Anchorage review

To complete OA in 30 minutes you'd have to be hauling ass. I played for an hour last night and hadn't destroyed anything yet. I wasn't going slow or anything. I think that some peiople are either exagerating or giving a 2nd or 3rd playthru and seeing how fast it can be done.

Emil Pagliarulo on the Gauss rifle

As I understand it current technology guass 'guns' require massive capacitors, which require lots of energy to fill them. So to me it would fit in line with laser and plasma weapon and energy needs. but unlimited ammo seems a bit far fetched, but then again 2mm is pretty small and you could hold...

    Fallout 3: Anchorage Questioned

Wow, I've been optomistic so far, but this really makes it sound like shit. I mean each response made it sound worse and worse, and I'm a psuedo-fanboy of Fallout3 (in spirit). Like the BS answer about weather, he throws out a bunch of words that sound like a yes but actually mean no. Gah...

    Fewer random encounters?

Does anyone know where/how to change the freqency of the random encounters in the wastes? I'd prefer to have fewer but harder battles rather than fairly easy battles every 50 feet. For instance I'd like to drop the % chance of encounter by a factor of 4.

    NMA: Fallout 3 review

I feel that this is a pretty fair review as long as people read the whole thing. They would certainly get a different impression if they only read the first page. And "not really Fallout 3 but a fairly good game" is good enough for me.

And even more special is that this is 'like' the first game where the flashlight does not need to recharge. You can leave it on forever...or at least until you enter leave a building/level ...

    That fuss about NPC-Markers

Um, have you even played the game? The do mill about. Granted tehy aren't going from their post -> to the bathroom -> and back, but they don't just stand there...

    That fuss about NPC-Markers

Consider it like being alert to the noises around you. Can you hear people walking on the floor above you?

    *sigh* NPC level scaling

Is the progression of bad guys related to the areas you are in? So that if at lvl 2 someone were to go to where you last saw a tough super mutant would they find a tough super mutant there? As well I've heard something along the lines that the level is set based on your level when you first...

    REAL FO3 System Requirements?

In my opinion the OPs bottleneck is the fact that he is running Vista with only 2gigs of RAM. The same rig running XP would be fine, but Vista is a RAM hog. Intel 6300 1.8 Ghz 4 GB RAM 8800 GTS Vista 32 running at 1680x1050 Running not quite 'very high' settings and it's smooth as...

AI is incredibly stupid in this game

Your perception is too low then. I know where bad guys are long before they know I'm there. I can see them far enough off that I can shoot them and until I hit them they don't know I'm there. Out doors I can understand that bad guys aren't phased by the sounds of gunfire near by, but indoors...

AI is incredibly stupid in this game

I don't know about any of you, but I miss quite often in VATS. So I do a lot of bullet wasting just so that I can hope to actually hit, which tends to do massively more damamge than real time. I like to play a balance of both. I can hit more often in real time but do more damage in VATS. Seems...
