Unigine CEO offers free license for Wasteland 2

While the engine looks ok on the surface its really hard to say if it will translate to an RPG well. Let us remember Descent to Undermountain featuring Chris Avellone and published by Interplay and then promptly purge it from memory after this has passed. I also doubt the owner of this...

Mods you already want for NV?

I actually meant ironsights itself. Good to know they built it in. That one probably would not port easily if obsidian created their own animations. Also recently saw they basically built in FWE as hardcore mode which is great. I'm trying hard to keep my head in the sand as much as...

Mods you already want for NV?

Based on existing mods: Darnified UI, Project Beauty, HairPack, IronSights, CASM I will probably spend the time to port some of these myself if required before playing. Really just the bare minimum to play as from experience these can just suck vast amounts time better spent playing the game.

    does game get more difficult?

Yes the game gets more difficult though I'm currently playing on Hard. You can change the difficulty on the fly on the options page. I don't think they get any smarter but they definitely do more damage or take less damage. In general the opponents get better guns before you do though you...

Do the mods run in every version of the game?

You might have problems with DarN's UI mod as it replaces some fonts and may not include the correct characters. (DarN's Scandinavian as I recall so he would probably be looking out for that but it probably wouldn't work for the russian version for instance).

    smaller fonts?

No problem. I dont intend to alter it any further if everything can be worked around. Heck I lost my harddrive earlier this year and I don t think I even have that release available only the 1.12 version (last known backup of that drive).

    smaller fonts?

Hey DarN. Welcome. Yeah, same nick on this and official forum. DDS seems useless other than a nice preview of whats in the font. You can export and convert dds from my tool but no real point. Love your UI and am looking forward to using it. Was using someone else's but I you have great...

    Modding Oblivion's ConstructionKit-A Possibility? Necessity?

I actually suspect that it may be possible to load the ESM into Oblivion if it were proper sanitized and then reexported. The file format did not actually change that much apparently according to some posts by timeslip and others. I think it would quite a long time to get it working so that...

    smaller fonts?

Yes the character sheet is annoying. Sort of cool for about 5 seconds but useless after that. I really need some better shortcut keys or better access to switching weapons. I'm sure one or more people will be working on all sorts of tweaks that will improve this. As you see, buckshot and...

Minimal UI mod + Revelation Thread

If I recall, the fonts where problematic in Oblivion mods. It took a fair amount of work to tame them as I recall. Some fonts would not center correctly in the game engine and I recall writing really weird compensation algorithms. If the font much lower or much higher than expected...

    Weight mod

Presumably you could use the console window to change it. Console window is opened using the back quote key (`). Type the command then enter and then close the console with the back quote key. player.setav carryweight 750 I didn't try this beyond a simple test of whether carryweight...

    smaller fonts?

These may be a little complicated for the uninitiated. Heck I forgot what half the settings were for. I did experiment with it and it appears to work for Fallout but alignments are way off. Also to change the font size usually also meant changing all of the UI files for best effect which is...

    smaller fonts?

Darn used my Font Generator to generate multiple font sizes. Which I assume is still up at Planet elderscrolls and the nexus. I assume that it will still work with Fallout but it requires a TTF font as a starting point. I've not played the game enough to have been frustrated with the font...

Fallout 3 file formats (How to open BSA files inside)

@SudenKaamos, welcome. Use ScripterRon's BSA pack/unpack tool. Find the link to his home page in his post here: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=893807&view=findpost&p=13074629 Development build of Nifskope has support for using the BSA for textures but does not...

Fallout 3 file formats (How to open BSA files inside)

For the tool smiths here, the texture BSA file uses a new header flag mask (0x100) for whether it will prefix the texture data with the full path name of the texture. This flag is the same word where the Compressed, pathnames, filenames flag is. The texture prefix name is one byte which...

Sony: Script Extender Out of the Question

@Timeslip, for some reason I always associated you with obse as well especially since you worked on similar tools here. These are good signs that the tools are being picked up. [OT] Anyone hear about TES4View/TES4Edit equivalent being worked on?

Fallout 3 file formats (How to open BSA files inside)

Textures are still DDS format. By the way I had problems with OBMM, so I used BSA commander with the hex edit trick. Have to run from Oblivion directory I guess which I dont have installed, doesn't work form Fallout directory.

Fallout 3 file formats (How to open BSA files inside)

Wow. There are a large number of changes with the few files I've looked at. I wouldn't expect much until the weekend.

Fallout 3 file formats (How to open BSA files inside)

This is good news on the BSA file at least. If nifskope doesn't work I expect neither blender, max, maya, pyffi tools to work since they all work off the nif.xml file which is currently wrong for the bethesda format. Give us a couple of days to analyze the files and maybe some time to...

    Mod manager

Good to hear that you are already prepared. Lots of modders will be sleeping better as a result. I sort of used OBMM but not as much as the rest of the community. Most of what you had in there is really useful and anything similar will be adequate initially. ----- Here is my...
