It was a decent Adventure game, good atmosphere, very pretty even if it wasnt top range. I wouldn't call it an RPG but the game itself was good for what it was, a reimagining of system shock. As for being deep, not so much but it at least tried.
It was a mildly creative way of asking the player, its more immersive then setting up a character sheet. Then again I think the vault intro is well placed, perhaps not well executed but I am awaiting playing the game for that determination.

Just think about it this way, you now have a 3D engine primed for modders to build the fallout 3D that you want. (I am aware that Bethesda isn't releasing mod tools at launch but that has never stopped the modding community before)
Todd says they didn't include becoming a mutant or ghoul but they did include mutations, by 14th level you should have been irradiated enough to gain super powers!
