Fallout 3 by any other name...

I think that's why Fallout 3 gets so much dislike, because it's targeted at people who thought the first two were too boring and not FPSy enough.

    other countires?

There were a few people in Fallout 3 who apparently crossed the Atlantic; Moriarty, Tenpenny and few others I think.

Fallout 3 takes grand slam in G-Phoria

By this point none of them are really surprising... Except for Best Voice Acting; surely even the most munchkiny gamer couldn't say FO3 had good voice acting...

DLC - What is it good for?

Is it really that hard to add the extra two characters, though, and thus save the confusion of writing the exact binary opposite of what you mean?

The Impossible Will Take A Little While

I think it's probably safe to say that far more thought has gone into this thread then anything at all in Fallout 3. There are really no underlying deep philosophical themes in FO3; and to try and invent some is giving to much credit to a developer that set only to create and LCD action game.

Would you have liked Fallout 3 more if it were like STALKER?

Without wanting to sound rude, is there a reason why? If Stalkers plot and immersion are better and it's combat is also better (though you may not agree), then what's the appeal of FO3? Less crippling bugs?

Would you have liked Fallout 3 more if it were like STALKER?

It was the opposite for me, for a few reasons I think. Fallout 3's environment was more visually stimulating I suppose, just because Stalker was so dreary. But Fallout was a lot more repetitive, the wastes looked the same, every interior was a maze of the same identical corridors. Not that...

Would you have liked Fallout 3 more if it were like STALKER?

Yeah, I probably would have preferred Fallout 3 if it was more like Stalker, hell, at times I got more of a Fallout feel from Stalker then I ever got from FO3. True, Stalker had very few RPG elements, but Fallout 3 wasn't very good in that respect either. The main difference for me was that...

Why fallout 3 is different then Fallout 1 and 2

I didn't think it was good, even going by its own qualities; playable I suppose, not exactly bad, but very average. If that's the best console came ever, I'm glad I'm a PC gamer. I can not possibly see putting 50 hours in, I explored every location on the map in just over half that time. VATS is...

    Chris Avellone Q&A

Eh, I don't think I would call Fallout 3 good as a shooter, the FPS game play is to clunky, it's just good enough to be playable. It may have a lot of content technically, but most of it was copy paste. As for atmosphere; I have to say, it's one of the least immersive or atmospheric AAA game...

How Many Hours Have You Put In?

I played for about 35 hours before running out of new places to explorer.

    So... Is Fallout 3 canon?

Well, the developers obviously consider Fallout 3 to be canon, (more so then the first 2 in many ways) so in that respect, yes, it is canon. Obviously you can choose to disregard it if you want, and I suspect a lot of the community will, me included, but as far as official status goes; it's canon.

Why fallout 3 is different then Fallout 1 and 2

I don't believe today's market requires terrible plot lines and dialogue, an inconsistent setting and a cast of horrible cliches. Even if the mechanics of Fallout wouldn't sell today (and that's very debatable in itself, aside from, possibly, turned base combat, I think everything in the...

    Should i buy fallout 3?

By your own logic shouldn't you just accept it and learn to like it rather then try and change it?

An Honest and Fair Way to Look at FO1 vs FO3

I feel the same, I definitely liked the first two fallouts more for their design and especially atmosphere, rather then for the writing (though i enjoyed that too). Problem is, I those just as lacking in Fallout 3 as the writing. Plenty of people have already commented on how poorly designed a...

    Fallout: New Vegas FAQ

A lot of the things taken from the previous Fallouts in FO3 shouldn't have been there, sequel or not. A lot of the plot elements were lifted right from older games, like the water chip, the FEV, talking the president into killing himself and so forth. Also, factions like the super mutants and...

    NowGamer interviews Howard and Pagliarulo

I'm not sure how you can not get tired of VATS after 65 hours (or still be playing after that long, I ran out of things to do and see after about 35). I admit the appeal lasted longer then I expected, but those slow-mo shots inevitably went from amusing to annoying to incredibly frustrating long...

The Pitt DLC released, only not

well I'm surprised to hear what sounds like a genuinely morally ambiguous plot. Though at this point I think I'm justified in being pessimistic and saying that the actual execution will probably cause it to disappear. One thing that I wonder is [spoiler:af937fa4ef]how exactly the slaves can...

    Gamasutra interviews Jason D. Anderson

This discussion seems kind of pointless. For a start, he can't really say that he hates the game without harming his career, so we still have no idea whether or not he liked the game. If he didn't, it's nice that he agrees. If he does, so what? It doesn't cause Fallout 3 to suddenly blossom into...

Things we learned from Fallout 3

Very familiar line, so familiar, we've all since found out Marcus was joking when he said it.
