I'm using Win7 x64 and I did get that weird .dat bug during install but the game itself seems to be working alright. I did, however, have a few completely random crashes in the Toxic Caves. Also, I did the orphanage quest for Mom in The Den, left to get Smiley, came back a few weeks later...
