A Proposal: Peaceful Interactions

First time out of the vault
I would like to propose a way that, perhaps, could resolve the conflicts between the Original Fallout community (with sites like No Mutants Allowed) and TES/Bethsoft modding community (with sites like Fallout3Nexus/TESNexus)

These two communities, have many things to offer to Fallout 3. They have different reasons for modding, different backgrounds, the histories of the modding communities are perhaps vastly different. Some would say that these differences cannot be resolved.

I disagree.

I have been on both sides of the fence. I was a modeler for the FIFE project, which at its heart, began as a project for the Original Fallout community, I made many friends, and I believe myself to be on good terms with them.

I have been over the years, a modder in the Morrowind Community, and also the Oblivion Community. I have been friends with many of the modders in that community. Vaanic~One, Nicoroshi, AlienSlof, Phijama, HoBBs, Jackmix69, too, and probably others, too! Please, don't be offended if your name is not included in this list, I have met many wonderful people in the TES Community, too many to list here. I was the original Co-Ordinator for the Spellhold Studios Oblivion section. I have seen both the good, and also, the bad.

I implore the members of both communities to be at the least, civil with each other. Both communities have much to offer to Fallout 3.

To everyone:

Please, remember, if you do not like something, please, do not download it. =) Also, please, be respectful of others. Take into account the time and effort put into creating something, or take their opinions into consideration.

As a side note:

Merely as a suggestion, it would be wonderful (and I'm sure many would be most appreciative), if those that make overhaul modifications could release a version of the modification that is one combined .esp, along with a modular version that uses multiple .esp(s). Only where possible, of course.

Note: This has been posted on both F3Nexus, and NMA.

Sorry about the crossposting, all. I just felt that perhaps, friendly interactions are possible between two different communities that have partly converged. Thank you.

I apologise if this is out of line. Just.. putting it out here.

I think he wants NMA, nexus, and "Official" Bethesda forum goers to "play nice" with eachother.

I troll these forums for suggestion ideas and I don't see that much dispute.. only general disagreements over realism vs arcadefun

speaking of peace, what i'd REALLY like is the ability to peacefully settle most conflicts, for example even against raiders you should be able to negotiate, for example giving your bottlecaps or something.

Careful, mrowa. Cross-site trolling is strictly against the rules at NMA.

What the hell are you talking about, OP? I have been in contact with the guy running TES Nexus, there's lots of people from here who put their mods up there and vice versa.

Seriously, man, could you be making less sense? Modders will be modders? I don't care about the TES official forums any more than I care about Planet Fallout, those are Bethesda's grounds. But the Nexus and NMA will never have a problem. They'll be different with NMA more interested in serious, canonical mods while the Nexus likes crazy furry porn mods and whatever

And yes, I do know the Nexus has been having some clashes concerning their rating system and people burning or praising mods with little real reason to do so. That is - with all due respect - strictly their problem, and not an NMA issue.

Seriously, I have no idea what the purpose of this thread is supposed to be.

I was hoping this thread would be about that.

My experience is community issues resolve themselves as long as cooler heads rule. Worry about being constructive if you're worried about Fallout 3 modding.
