Arkham City Disappeared Save-games

This ghoul has seen it all
Fucking hell. I realize 11 hours isn't much in the grand scheme of things, but it's still fucking 11 hours. I've researched this and found only a forum of people complaining and a member of the game staff saying they're looking into it...and that was a month ago.

Anybody else have this happen? Anybody else have a fix?
 
Ugh, Games for Windows Live games. Can't say I've had this problem so all I got is random suggestions...

Have you tinkered with GfWL? Uninstalling, reinstalling, logging in and out? The program is absolutely shitballs.

Have you tried finding your saves on your HD? Dunno if you have it on Steam or retail or...Should be a .sgd somewhere.
 
I don't think GFwL utilizes cloud saving, or forces it on you, it's just the way it tries to link saves on your HD with your GFwL account that tends to get fucked up. But I think it always utilizes hard saves.
 
Well the issue is if you sign in/out of Live it creates a new key and then POOF! your save games are gone. No idea where to find any files or info. There's a post on the Steam forum but I can't fucking make heads or tales of it and looks to be way more a pain in the arse than just not playing the fuckin' thing.
 
I hate to sound redundant but based on your response, I'm betting those save games are somewhere on your HD. As a last resort, maybe system restore will get them back if you've exhausted your search of MyDocuments.

Yeah. And unfortunately I see nothing in that folder and when I attempt to do it without the backup there is nothing under "previous versions".

Since there's nothing under "Previous Versions" for that folder, that's not going to work either. I was thinking the same thing 'til I saw his last post.
Like BN mentioned, I'd do a search for the save files. Try to do a windows search for *.sgd (the asterisk is important to find all .sgd files). Make sure to search the entire hard drive(or computer) and check the option to find non-indexed files.

You have probably already tried this, in which case, I think you're hosed. Pretty fuckin' lame.
 
I know this doesn't help the situation, but that is why I play some games on consoles, and others on PC. Shit like this always seems to happen to me. I really hate LIVE too. I have had numerous game related problems with LIVE and STEAM. I guess it's to be expected though. STEAM still rocks, but fuck LIVE.

Twinks, if you can manage, Arkham City is a great game. I can see how you might just want to say fuck it though. I hate losing hours of play time over BS.
