SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Researchers at the university of california, sacramento announced late yesterday that they have genetically engineered a strain of wetback (homosapian immagratus illeagalus) to be 80% lesss boyant than their natural counterpart's, this leads to an almost immediate sinking upon their introduction to large bodies of water.
Lead scientist Bob Smith was quoted as saying, "This is an amazing breakthrough, it is hoped that once released back into mexico, this strain of wetback will breed with the current strain and within two generations water will be a natural barrier to one of americas most annoying problems."
While no timeline has yet been set for the release of the modified wetback back into Mexico, studies are still currently under way to try and determine just how fast these new wetback will breed with the old strain. On scientist was quoted as saying, "Now if only these wetbacks would breed as readily as bunnies, or black people."
