Can't get Ted to follow me

I'm playing the Beyond the Beef mission in the ultra luxe and I can't get Ted Gunderson to follow me back to his father. I have already exposed Mortimer but Ted won't leave the members only area. I then went into the kitchen, which he followed me to, but now he won't leave the kitchen, he just stands there with his fists raised. I have reloaded the game from here many times to no avail. My last manual save was a good 4-5 missions ago and I am not looking to replay them. Any tips you guys could give?

Sound like the recent trouble I have with Beagle. I strip him of everything, then reequip him to no avail.

Then I bump into him to push him out of his place. He followed me at a very far distance. Then again, I have three companion at the time: EDE, Boone and Willow, so I suspect that's the reason. Also, he wont follow me into the big hole, but only through the small maintainance corridor.

So I suggest, ONE to tell your companion to stop at another place, TWO, to push him into movement, and possible he will follow a predetermined route.
