Okay, my CD drive spontaneously "lost" it's driver somehow.

What do I do? Can I download another driver for the type of drive I have?

Well, yes, basically. Whatever make and model of drive you have, just find the manufacturer's website. Although for CD/DVD drives, often the ones Windows installs for you are what the manufacturer tells you to install anyway. Can't be certain without knowing the make and model of your drive, though.

Probably the best way would be just use the Device Manager.

Right-click My Computer -> Properties -> 'Hardware' tab -> Device Manager -> DVD/CD-ROM drives -> Right-click the offending device (should have an exclamation point if the drivers are missing or not working) -> Update Driver... -> Let it connect to Windows Update, and you should be good from there.

if there is a problem but windows doesnt recognize there is a problem, then the easiest thing to do is to delete the drive from the device manager and restart.

if that fixes it then yer good :)
