In more interesting retail pre-order solicitation news, the British arm of online stuff-seller Amazon.com seems to think that a console release of OutRun 2 is a done deal. Amazon.co.uk's games section states that both PS2 and Xbox versions of Sega-AM2's new arcade racer are in the works for European release on August 13.
Console versions of OutRun 2 have been the subject of much speculation over the past few months, with some sources claiming the expensive Ferrari licenses would prevent a home release, others claiming that the game's lack of longevity would prevent a home release, and yet others claiming that the commercial non-viability of an Xbox version in Japan would prevent a home release. Some or all of the above may still be right, but we'll continue to look forward to an official announcement from Sega.
