It Wandered In From the Wastes
This is my comp.533 mhz Celeron, 64 mb of pc 100 ram, intergrated graphics(leeches off the system ram), intergrated sound,56k modem,10 gig hard drive,48x cd drive, floppy drive,15 inch monitor, intel 810 motherboard that can support up to an astronomical 1 ghz p3 and 512 mb of pc 100 sd ram, no agp slot, 4 PCI slots and a 2 button wheel mouse.I'm on the brink of just smashing the shit out of it.I left it on for about 9 hours today and it only downloaded 57 mb of Freespace 2.I hate it so much.any idea's as to how to kill it.I'm thinking of pouring coke over the motherboard, letting it sit for 2 days, then i'll pour gasoline, kerosene, metho, petrol, oil and grease inside then ill drop the computer game Everest inside(ie the worst game ever)then ill seal it all up except for one little hole then ill drop a peice of paper with 50, no 100 matchstick heads inside and then ill place it on my drive way and attach 5 burning matches to the end of a stick and then drop them inside. That'll teach it.

Fusion from TO can beat you, but I dont think he's seen this thread.

I have an Ambra p90 with everything onboard.
Since it's a genuine IBM onboard means fucked.

Hm. This is my system:

AOpen HX45 miditower ATX
AOpen AK73Pro(A) (sound)
AMD Thunderbird 1400
cooling fan AMD Athlon + Intel
40 gb UDMA/100 7200 rpm IBM
AOpen 52 speed CD-ROM
diskdrive 1.44 mb
SDRAM 256 mb
Riva GeForce II MX 32 mb
moitor LG 17" .24 776FM

I bought it exactly two years ago and it was a pretty good machine back then (except for the lousy GeForce), but nowadays this configuration totally sucks. I bought Age Of Mythology and thought that my machine would meet the PC requirements, but I can't play the game at all. I bought The Sims, but after a while the framerate got so poor that I was like watching a slideshow instead of a game. Stupid machine! I never have any luck with buying computers. My previous one was a Compaq and after about a month the screen started to behave real funny: it would turn yellow. Brought it back to the shop and they replaced it with a new screen. A month later: same story! Yellow screen! Then I found out that by hitting the monitor real hard the yellow went away! Ha! I beat the crap out of that machine every time I used it! Whack! Whack! Eventually I bought the one I have now and gave it to my sister. She whacks it too.
My very first computer (I've had three of them so far) was a real cutie, though. It was a Pentium 90. I wrote a book on it (using Works) and played a lot of Wolfenstein 3D on it. Good memories. Good computer (it NEVER crashed). I gave it to my dad when I left home. He still uses it.

No, not really. My previous two computers was real crap, though, regardless of the numbers. This one's ok, except for the intergrated sound card piece of junk, and it is a pretty old (around two years I think, and it wasn't top of the line back then either).

Wanna know what computer my Dad uses? 386 SX 33 MHz, 2 MB RAM Trident VGA 512 KB, 170 MB hard drive, no CDROM, no sound card, 14.4 kbps modem! It's over ten years old now!

My own computers in chronological order:

late 80-ies - 1993. - C64

1993.-1995. - 386 DX 40 MHz, 220 MB HDD, 4 MB RAM, 14" ADI monitor (all resolutions higher than 640x480 looked incredibly dark on this monitor...)

1995.-1997. - 486 DX4 100 MHz, 850 MB HDD, 16 MB RAM, Cirrus Logic video card with 1 MB VRAM, double speed CDROM, Creative SB16 audio card, this was my favorite computer ever, and I almost shed a tear whenever I remember all the good games I used to play on it. Doom II, Duke 3D, Warcraft, Warcraft II, Heroes, Heroes II, Daggerfall, Diablo, Full Throttle, Civilization II and many many others...

1997.-1999. - upgraded my old 486 to Pentium 133, also bought ATI All-in-wonder Rage 3D-II video card

1999.-2002. - PIII 450, 128 MB PC100 RAM, Voodoo 3, SB Live Value (I still have that card!), also replaced my old ADI monitor with new Sony 15".

2002. - bought a new comp in September, P4 2.4, 512 MB RDRAM 1066, GF4 ti4600, 17" Hansol LCD, but I still hang on to my good ol' SB Live. And my good old Cambridge Soundworks FPS 2000, I can't describe how happy I was when I purchased them three years ago. They still rock!

As you can see, I owned a lot of different computers, and I can honestly say my favorite ever was 486, and everything that came afterwards I enjoyed less and less. Ah, the good old days...

hmm... Pentium233 MMX with an Ati Rage 2 videocard and 32Megs of ram...

oh... I have a better one too, but I use this old one too...

the same thing happens to my sisters comp blade runner.Except it turns purple and its a hewlett packard.ratty, do you still have that grand C64.No i actually meant *gah* everest. So very very terrible.

I have a 14mhz pc with turbo for 24mhz, with 1 meg of ram and a 46mb harddrive, with a 10" amber/black monitor. It has combo floppy 5" and 3". It also has a 14kbps modem (ISA) and a riva 128 pci with 4mb video (thru ISA to PC adapter.)

That is crappy!

Current System :

A7N8X Retail (non deluxe)
Athlon Xp 1700+ @ 1.833
1x 256mb Crucial Pc2100 @ 5 2 2 2
GeForce 3 Ti 200 @ 230/500
40gb WD - 400 8mb cache
52x cd rom & zip drive
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Dolby (It was $10)
350w Qmax PSU (It's shit, I know)
and 3 Vantec Tornados (110cfm)

People can get by on crappy computers, I know people who still use 386 too. As long as they can do what they want on it, why upgrade?

well see, heres what you can do with a 386
-Connect to the internet
-Nothing
-Program with this 10 year old queer MS compiler i found on my schools comps
-possibly nothing
-Not very much
-destroy it, like a normal person. You could also use it as a toilet.Hey thats a pretty damn good idea.

First off, why do you follow me Kain.Is it because i am the unquestioned lord, ruler and master of my computer."I have a 14mhz pc with turbo for 24mhz, with 1 meg of ram and a 46mb harddrive, with a 10" amber/black monitor. It has combo floppy 5" and 3". It also has a 14kbps modem (ISA) and a riva 128 pci with 4mb video (thru ISA to PC adapter.)".My god, this beast will one day enslave us all.GAAAAAAAAHHHhhh did you say 46 mb hard drive. What have you created. This fowl beast must be thrown into the fires of Mount Do... i mean hot chilli at the nearest Montezuma's, or given to me.

I just sold my Abit Siluro ti4200 today, Matrox G400 dual head probably in the next few days... I don't know what to buy, Radeon 9700 is too damn expensive for me...

btw, I had a lot of "garbage", 386 and 486 components, all isa, vesa local bus (or something). Got cut on one of the cards, been bleeding like shit... damn card, and I don't even know whats it used for :) just throw the stuff away... kept the memory though...

FUCK THIS SHIT!!!! This is the TENTH FUCKING TIME in the past two days the server went down and I lost my post!!!! &$#Q&/&"/!&/&%$#&%"&%!!!

Anyway, Miro, why did you sell your ti4200, it's a great card. I suggest you buy a Radeon 9600, you should be able to find it for 130-140 bucks.

As for my C64, no, I don't have it anymore. :(

I still have motherboard for a 386 (complete), a 486 sx and a 486dx2 (also complete).
One of the 486 i want to use as a c64 emulator.

I have a 550MHz K6-II (Socket 7), 192MB SD RAM (PC133), 10GB Seagate hard drive, 12x burner, CD drive, floppy drive, VIA Apollo MVP4 mobo, and VIA Tech VT8501 8MB integrated graphics.

The newest game I can play is probably Dungeon Siege (8 - 20 FPS).

I thought your CPU was a 633. That means my CPU is faster then yours. EDIT: It's actually 566.

I was playing around with the multipliers and now WCPUID says it's at 550MHz.

And yours is a 533.

550 > 533.

Guys (meaning syko and Omancer), why do you host your daily and banal conversations on this message board? Get M$N Me$$anger or a girlfriend already! You obviously know each other in real life, so why not try talking to other people here? Save us the spam and contribute something worthwhile!

Me, I have a laptop that freezes sometimes and sometimes the screen goes on and off for no reason whatsoever. The batter used to work but doesn't now so I have to keep it plugged in at all times. I don't have the specifications, but its a few years old and its a POS anyways.
