Duplicated entities file.

paladin_lord

It Wandered In From the Wastes
I had to reinstall FoT improver and after setting up the first steps i open the entities and found that most of them were duplicated.
Here is what i did step by step ...

1 - created MyModingFolder at FoT main folder.

2 - unzipped all "unpacked" core folder inside MyModdingFolder

3 - Installed FoT improver exe inside FoT main folder
- edited gui_txt (in both core and mymodfolder)
- edited improver.cgf and set configuration option: improver.useCurrentDir to 1.

4 - created a shortut linking FoT Improver exe with -path MyModdingFolder

5 - checked the shortcut and its working, but most stuff at the editor is duplicated (entities, level, campaign)

obs - i thought that the issue could be because i pre-installed FoT Improver inside FoT main folder and set the improver.usecurrentdir to one When my Improver exe generates an windows registry. So i copied the Improver contents and uninstalled it to erase the registry, copied all improver files back to FoT main folder and checked the editor ... but everything remains duplicated.

any clues ?

It is 100% normal ;)

Since your game is running from "core" and from "mod" you will see a duplicate of every file, your mod folder does not require any original files.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I deleted the files from my mod folder and the "drunken eyesight is no more". Initially I put the files in there following a tutorial i found at http://www.nma-fallout.com/content.php?page=fot-editors-part1

[...] Next, you will need to unpack three files that the editor needs to work with.
The tiles are in Fallout Tactics\core\tiles_0.bos.
The entities are in Fallout Tactics\core\entities_0.bos.
The missions are in Fallout Tactics\core\mis-main_0.bos.
Copy these three files from Fallout Tactics\core into Fallout Tactics\My folder.
Rename them to tiles_0.zip, entities_0.zip, and mis-main_0.zip.
Click on tiles_0.zip to open it in winzip, select all files and extract them, make sure that the box is checked to Use Folder Names. Extract the other two files in the same way. [...]

I wanted the mod to be of easy distribution, as suggested by the tutorial above. but i had no idea it would end up in file duplication. Actually i don't know if i did something wrong or if the tutorial was outdated and didn't cover features like FoT improver. How do you guys set up the mod folder in a more "easy of use" format ?
