The Escapist confirms the soon-to-be retail version of Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt. And gets a quote on why no Broken Steel.
And where is Broken Steel in all this? The third and most anticipated Fallout 3 DLC release isn't out yet but it will be before the expansion pack hits the shelves. There are "several" reasons Broken Steel won't be included in the disc, according to Bethesda's Pete Hines. "The gist of it is that we wanted to go ahead and get the first two out there in a shorter period of time," he said.
Thanks Garlic.

While this does not affect me in any way I think they would have been smarter to include Broken Steel, even if it means waiting a month. I'm sure that a lot of non broadband people are interested in The Pitt and Anchorage but more than anything they probably want the game extending Broken Steel.

I'm assuming there gunna pull a "Special Edition" in the future that contains all three.

I'm not so sure which would net them more but I certainly wouldn't buy this and would wait for some pack including all three, so I'm inclined to agree to a certain extent.

They'll probably release a GOTY edition with all of the DLC but I'm not so sure that they'll release another DLC pack like this. The question is, who would they expect to buy such a GOTY edition? I think it's fair to say that after this release, a larger portion of Fallout 3 owners would not buy the GOTY edition (I think you'd end up splitting it), this means that which ever item has the larger margin should have been their focus which seems to me like it would have been to release all three on a single disc so that players would have to buy both Fallout 3 and the compilation, but that's pure speculation.

I'm sure it's got nothing to do with the fact that you want to force us to pay extra money again to get BS (I love that acronym).

no, it'll be the "S.P.E.C.I.A.L Sekrete Gold 'Sploshun Edition"

it will come in a nondescript grey "crate" and will include:

* a book of poetry written by Todd Howard and staff
* vault boy toothbrush (to get the bad taste of FO3 out yr mouth)
* a pile of scrap metal
* all three DLC's complete with bugs and glitches on scratched CD's
* a coupon for 25% off on the patches necessary to play each game

lol no, haven't you seen Bethesda's prior history with GOTY editions? Apparently it's a marketable tactic that sells, they made one for the original Xbox version of Morrowind about a year after it came out, then they did the same thing with Oblivion a year later as well, adding DLC for the PS3 users who were complaining about the lack of DLC. Same will happen for Fallout 3 - All of this has happened before, and all of it will happen again and again and again and...
