I was wondering....should I shell out the dough for Tactics right now or wait a while? The reason I'm asking is that I've been told it's really buggy.

Shadowwalker

1. Buggy
2. Few relations to Fallout
3. Setting is hosed
4. Loss of most of the retro setting and concepts of the first
5. A genuine doubt as to if anyone responsible for FOT has played Fallout at all
6. Chintzy and bugged "revolutionary" things like the vehicles
7. A manual that was half-assed and the person responsible has admitted their incompetence and has asked everyone in the Fallout community to do his job for him and help un-FUBAR the manual (look in the news section)
8. A clearly "rushed" feel to the game (deadline was 15 months)
9. A clearly "incomplete" feel to the game
10. 8 and 9 have made this game into "Interplay Shovelware" status
11. Multiplayer is the ONLY saving grace of this game, otherwise it would be dead already once enough people pointed to JA2 or any of the X-Com series

If you want Fallout, play Fallout 1 and 2.
If you want Tactics, play X-Com or JA2, etc.
If you want a rushed game that barely touches either concept, take your chances with FOT.

The people to blame for the concepts being a tad screwed:
Interplay and whatever chimp they had that signed off the artwork, but also MicroForte a good deal for disregarding the concepts previous. Perhaps if they had more time, they might have realized the mistakes they made like when they saw Proverbius' article.

The people to blame for the numerous bugs, the rushed feel, and the incomplete feel:
The chimps at Interplay, for the really stupid thinking that a game can be published after a 15-month development time.

Dennis Leary stole my song! That...asshole!

"Robert, your time has come!"

"OOOH! Wonderful! Wonderful! Thank you, Master!"

"Don't mention it."

*Robert explodes in a shower of sparks*

It's me, Jack Brown! The wind-up ass-hole!
