Gran Turismo 4

Meh. The cars I like are rarely in racing games. Hell, the cars I like aren't in *any* racing games, with a few notable exceptions... The original Need For Speed has a C4 Corvette like mine, but the newer variant. That's all I can think of offhand, as I mostly like big luxury cars and trucks that don't show up in racing games at all. Show me a game with a 59 Cadillac, a 73 Imperial, a 65 Lincoln, and I'll buy it. Hell, show me one with a 300ZX (first type) and a MKI MR2 and I'll buy it!

Enjoy the People's Car!

Okay, you may like this one then.

As far as I got, there's an incredible amount of varied cars. A couple notable ones are a '49 split window VW Beetle, and for some strange reason a quad-cab Dodge Hemi 1500 4x4.

There's also the original 300ZX, my dad had one just like it, and I'm sure the older MR2's. Some '70's muscle cars, some really old cars, a lot of newer cars. Not just race worthy ones either, there's a goddamn Scion Xb in there. *shrug*

The tracks are damn amazing to look at. There's really nothing to compare them to.

Only thing I don't like so far, is the menu interface, it's a little too fractured for me, but it has loads more options than GT:3.

I'll add more tomorrow, maybe, depends on how much more I see.

A Scion XB? The Angry Toaster? That car with the drag coefficient of a brick (Wait! It IS a brick!) is barely road-worthy, nevermind race-worthy. If it's got a 300ZX I may be interested... time to look for a car list... Thanks!

Edit: Found a Car list... with more than a few of interest!
Several Fairlady Z's, MR2s, a C4 Corvette (not mine; boo hiss!) Chrysler Crossfire, A Mercury Cougar XR-7, A Pontiac Tempest, A pair of Alpines, A Caterham 7, A Jensen/Healey Interceptor, more than a few Mercedes/Benz, and a Triumph Spitfire. The list was from the Japanese version, so I hope that these will carry over to the US version. Either way it just may make me buy a PS2...

I don't know about all of them, I'm not too far into the game.

But yes, there's a sickening amount of cars in this game...

And just like GT3 A-spec, it may sell more PS2's just because of it's greatness.

I'm just dissapointed that the new PS2 has been made "hack-resistant", i.e. difficult to modify for the ability to function with all games. I have no idea why the concept of playing foreign games in the US or vice-versa frosts SCE's nuts, but they can go screw for all I care. I'm gonna look for a chipped one on Ebay...

I loved racing the big fat trucks...

but it's a bugger they wont let you duel alot of the older cars, or the solar powered nike car.

I played but I think I like Burnout 3 more... you know, I just get the feeling GT:4 is so slow... after you've played Burnout 3. But despite that and some other things, GT:4 looks really cool. And all those cars in it, that's just awesome.
