Niresh,
1 day leave absences do not require a medical certificate as stated in
my contract, provided I have stated that I am on leave for medical
reasons.
Thanks

Hi Kyle,
Usually that is the case, as per your contract. However please note that
leave during these occasions is only granted for genuine medical
reasons. You line manager has determined that your leave was not due to
medical reasons and as such we cannot grant leave on this occasion.

Hi Niresh,
My leave was due to medical reasons, so you cannot deny leave based on a
line manager's discretion, with no proof, please process leave as
requested.
Thanks

In some fucked-up countries, hangover is a perfectly valid medical condition for getting a PAID leave.

Holy shit I actually LOL'd at that horrendous pun.

I've called in sick after a hangover and gotten paid =O. I wasn't stupid enough to post it on facebook or whatever though lol.

It actually has more to do with your place of work, than your country of residence.

Indeed... I honestly cannot recall a retail job without at least one manager that would obnoxiously make it known to the staff how hard they planned to party that night and would take the next day off with "the flu," deftly managing the double-dickery of eating into our labor budget and screwing over that day's scheduled underlings and off-duty managers. The trick to it is picking a line of work where nobody gives a damn about anything but their own next paycheck. Careers that utilize failure at life as an upward mobility vehicle are also promising in this regard.

Pwnd! I would never try to scam a day off work... I'm too Japanese with my work ethic. I work for free on occasion, never call in sick, never say no to what ever the boss needs... So far, its worked out well for me.

You're a peon for the System! Rebel! Hoist the black flag and inflict righteous vengeance on your opressors!

within 5 years, your total lack of backbone will be compensated by an inch-thick skin.

Nah, within 5 years you then become the backbone as most folks don't stay at a job that long.

Facebook can lead to bad things if you get careless. I work with one of my close friend and leave her comments about how I want to make a sex tape with my neighbor thats cheating on her boyfriend with me and sell it to my supervisor, because he keeps inviting me over and i think he wants to fuck me. So now, some of our coworkers that she is friends with on facebook read the comments on her page and started asking me stupid questions.

Anyway, I think i make it too obvious when I call in sick when I'm hungover, given that I usually come in hungover at lest once a week.

Then when you're truly sick you have to go to work? That's too bad, unless you work in a bar, of course.

And what happened to your boyfriend? did you make that tape? and why you had to answer stupid questions? aren't they the coworkers of her?
I admit that I don't understand much of what you post, honestly.
