Having problems getting Pitch Black.

I trigger the encounter without saving early on, to make sure it was where the map said it was. Sure enough, it was there, and being early I got slaughtered. So, I reloaded a prior save and waited.

Now i've just done Mardin, and have some good soldiers and a mix of assault rifles and shotguns. I should be able to do the encounter, even if i lose a couple, of people.

However, now the encounter just won't trigger where its supposed to.

Instead, I got the L33tists, and then for some reason, upon trying again after visiting the bunker and getting anew squadmate, the monty python 'peoples front' gag encounter.

But no matter how many times I reload, its always the latter encounter, where Pitch Black had been the first time, and should be. I want Riddick in my squad, so its really irritating me.

Does anyone know if it was the adding a new squadmate that 'reset' the encounter? Or any clue what else I can do, other than just drive blindly around? I just don't get, as aside from finding the traders in the same square, miles from where they should have been, everything else was where it was supposed to be.

When you reload the game the encounter rate for Pitch Black is higher depending on what the time is in the game, as time goes on the other random encounters will become less frequently run in to and Pitch Black will become available again, and don't worry about finding another random encounter in the same place as Pitch Black because Pitch Black will become more frequent around the other random encounters proper spawning location.
