First time out of the vault
I can't seem to get through the yellow gates at all and all the guides I've seen say to use your repair skill on the hourglass thingy next to it. There isn't even an option for me to repair this thing so I don't really understand. i also brought Vic along in case my repair wasn't high enough. Had this same problem in Fallout but couldn't solve it either, I could always just blow it up but I'm really curious if I'm just doing something wrong. Pic attached.
