Junktown guards ands childkillers

A Smooth-Skin
Nowadays, is first time when I playing FO1 with childrens.
My character is typical badass, beating every encountered child and woman etc.
When I got to Junktown, Kalnor told me.
"Hey, you'd better turn right around and walk back out of here."
I added using falche cult of personality, nothing, a lot of karma, nothing.
Weird fact, even Per Jorner didn't pointed this in his walkthrough.

So, childkillers have a hard life. :(

Also, in Vault 13 I can't even talk with rebels to calm them down, but hey, they are locked in Vault 13, from they know about my "karma" and achievements? Yhym.

I'm sorry your choices have consequences I guess

Cult of Personality is broken though and doesn't do a thing, that's normal

After killing a child I believe it is like adding a perk, and has nothing to do with karma. It's like a Childkiller perk, and limits dialogue severely. Somebody please back me up on this.

Yeah mate, killing women and children doesn't make you a badass.

Unless the children in question are 100 foot tall cyborg/demon/whatever abominations who can breathe fire and have missile launchers for fingers.

Of course, I seriously doubt that was the case, as such a creation would be silly in a Fallout game.

Doom in the subconscious, methinks... =)

But yeah, clearing out Navarro is badass. Not giving a shit every time you cross an Enclave Patrol is badass. FO1 doesn't really have comparable instances of that, since Unity patrols were never that threatening.... but you COULD say clearing them one after the the other is badass... But not killing children.

About the only valid point is that the Vault 13 dwellers REALLY shouldn't be so aware of it once you return... Unless the game is implying that, out of dialog, your Vault Dweller character is going around telling everyone about his travels, and how he "totally obliterated those fucking little brats" every time... Again, STILL not badass. Really, really douchey, actually.

No... more like that I just abused the living shit out of "stacking attack speed". I would end up firing 5 120% Energy Weapons shots from my Turbo Plasma Rifle per turn, so many times 2 or even 3 Mutants would drop, per turn. The only ones that ever "scared" me were the Gatling Laser Super Mutants, and those were always my first targets. Now... running into them EARLIER ON- that's a different story. But for whatever reason (even when I was new to Fallout) I NEVER encountered the Unity Patrols before I was 12 or 15, probably because I saw no reason to go poking around in the Northwest. Once I finally did, I became one of the many players who used them as "free money/experience" farming runs.

But hey, if YOU GUYS felt they were equally as nerve-wracking as their FO2 Enclave counterparts, then all is well! Once again, wasting them would be a badass feat! =D

Never on any setting below Hard. But hey, don't worry about being wrong. After all, you were addressing Tagaziel rather than me... =)

It's not being a childkiller, it's the ENEMY_JUNKTOWN global variable.

re: Badass vs Douchey, who cares? Semantics. Killing children in the Fallout universe is good fun, end of story.

Which, of course, is the real reason some people don't like Fallout 3.

If that's the only reason then they're retarded. Plenty of other reasons not to like it.

Was a bit of tongue-in-cheek mate.

Personally it did bug me, but it's part of a bigger issue -- the issue of Lack Of Freedom and Lack Of Choice.

I just imagine it's because the children are actually all ghosts. Maggie died in the attack after all and Billy went insane with the guilt, Little Lamplight is haunted by all the kids that died in the nearby vault or something, etc. Gotta use your imagination and ignore a few things but it makes it better than "kids are immortal because killing them is bad mkay"

lol that's a good idea.

I actually do like Fallout 3, it's just fun to mock. I'd give it.... maybe a 7/10? 8/10? Something like that. To me the "Fallout 3 Situation" is similar to that of Diablo III - in spite of the flaws, some of which are glaring, obnoxious, or stupid, it's still a blast to play (most of the time).

I wish I could change your display name to Formerly K. That would please me greatly.
