Lonesome Road endings: reputation bonuses

Censor

Huh?
Hiya, long time lurker and now first time poster here.

I've been replaying FNV a while ago, this time with all the DLCs installed. The reputation bonuses for some of the endings of Lonesome Road left me wondering:

According to the wiki, if you decide to disable the launch, the Followers of the Apocalypse will be happy with you - for obvious reasons. However, why would the Brotherhood be so happy with that to get your reputation boosted? I find it more likely they would be so when the NCR gets nuked, or both the NCR and the Legion. Why would they care - it doesn't affect them. Or does it?

I couldn't find a quick answer or explanation thus far.

They're probably happier that you didn't go shooting nukes about? Either so they can study/control them, or just generally happy you dind't nuke what's left of life in the wastes.

The Brotherhood was founded on the principle of not allowing technology to destroy humanity a second time. This includes being against nuclear war or horrific scientific experiments.

While Elijah was for the use of technology to destroy the NCR with broader firepower, the rest of the Brotherhood was more along the lines of using technology on an individual level.

DevilTakeMe nailed it, I think. Also, though, isn't it implied or stated that Dry Wells/The Long 15 aren't the only targets, nor is the silo you're in the only active one? It's possible the the Brotherhood would lament the loss of any target sites because they'd be the most likely places on either side of the conflict to contain knowledge or tech worth acquiring and preserving, and/or that the missiles and the operational Hopeville Base itself are (as Wintermind said) something that they'd like to get their hands on.

Thanks for the replies.
Well, that makes sense. I'm also guessing there are more active silos the Brotherhood would want control over, Yamu, not sure if it is explained in LR..
