Mutants...

This came to me when I asked myself the following question: "What would happen if you'd play Fallout 1 with a female character and get dipped?"

1. Would she die? (Cause, there appear to be no female mutants.)
2. Would the FEV change her sex to male?

Here's an ICQ log that may help speculating somewhat.

And no, there are no female mutants, when you deliver some disk to the master, he asks one of the male mutants... Then you tell him to ask a female mutant and voila, no female mutants.

I seem to remember something in Fallout 2... In Broken Hills.. I think it was a Male Mutant Arguing with his wife or something about...cooking? I can't remember exactly but I believe it said something about a female mutant if you 'looked' at her... So there are Female Mutants...? I guess.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but there are female mutants. In fallout 1 when you try to convince the master that the mutants can't reproduce you get an option to tell him to ask a female mutant about it. Mutants were sterile during the timeperiod of fallout 1, it wasn't until much later they got (like Marcus said) their juices flowing again.

Also, I feel the need to point out (however superfluously) that examining some of the mutants in FO1 will show that they have female names.
