What it says.
DESCRIPTION: Point Lookout opens up a massive new area of the Wasteland – a, dark, murky swampland along the coast of Maryland. So hop on the ferry to the seaside town of Point Lookout, for the most mysterious and open-ended Fallout 3 DLC adventure yet.

STORY: Buy a ticket and hop onboard the Duchess Gambit, as Tobar the Ferryman takes you to the strange seaside town of Point Lookout. What secrets does the dilapidated boardwalk hold? Who lives in the sprawling mansion? Why is the Punga Fruit so important? And what horrors lie in the depths of the murky swamp?

Point Lookout is the most open-ended DLC yet, and allows you to explore a huge, swampy wasteland any way you’d like. A completely new quest line allows you uncover the town’s hidden secrets and wield powerful new weapons like the Double-Barrel Shotgun against the swamp’s dangerous, and deformed, denizens.

KEY FEATURES:

• Discover and explore an entire new area – the beachfront town of Point Lookout, with its decrepit boardwalk and surrounding swamplands loaded with adventure.
• Explore the chilling mystery that pervades this once sleepy town, with a new quest line and open-ended gameplay.
• Encounter unique new swamp denizens and weaponry that will test even the toughest characters.
• Exclusive new perks and achievements!
Three screenshots.

And a trailer for some FPS. No idea what game this is.

Thanks Ausir.

When I read the description I wonder if it wouldn't be better if this was made as something independent from Fallout.

I honestly can't see the connection other than this being a place far from civilization which might as well be distance rather than a nuclear war.

Looks like a place to take one of my low level characters, I doubt the swamps will be as scary or rewarding if I go in with power armor and late game weaponry.

Maybe we can see Cthulhu in there. At least I felt this way while reading the text.

Well they already did the Dunwich building, mutants that look like Cthulhu's star born spawn and deep ones?

Yes. See the trailer (my edit above). It really feels like Cthulhu could be in there. At least I think I already saw some deep ones in the video...

Edited trailers and screenshots into the newspost

If anyone can explain to me how this is even remotely appropriate for Fallout, that'd be a miracle.

Seriously guys, this isn't that bad from what I see. At least they try to be creative this time and not just rehash something from previous games.

another Interplay title instead

Are you sure?

Point Lookout:

Cthulhu - Dark Corners of the Earth:

Last one is a Bethesda title too. (And not a bad title, imo)

"Redneck Rampage"...

As I have stated earlier, I like the swampy setting, but this looks to much Morrowind.

looks like The Hill Have Eyes remake in a swamp.

+Redneck Rampage!
And the logo reminds me of Prehistoric/Flinstones;P This seriously suck!

Is it me, or is there some connection here:

Also, notice how every trailer from bethesda is identical to the previous one

Really? Honestly serious really?

Dark Corners of the Earth really could have used a sequel, especially one where you dont break both legs by falling a short distance. I'm expecting this to owe more to The Hills Have Eyes and Wrong Turn than to Lovecraft mythos, although some references will probably show up. I'm actually looking forward to this, I dont blame Brother None for saying it has little to do with fallout but it does look like a place I want to visit.

* Actually it looks like a place I have visited... I'm half Cajun so I spent a lot of vacations in Louisiana watching gators cross the road while reading comics. I swear I saw the guys in the screenshots at the local liquor store.

Heh mutant hillbillies

(yes I know the Trogs of VB were also suppose to be Hillbillies but their concept is a lot better)

I am all for trying to give a different spin on something existing, but this?

People thought I was negative about The Pitt, but I rather see more DLCs like that than this.

I'm sorry but after watching that trailer, which showed not one element that even resembled an RPG, the only thing that comes to mind is this:

I fucking hate Bethesda. I've never hated a company more.
