Ok, so Interplay has two Fallout games in development, one is a long awaited title which fans are drooling over and nearly falling over each other to see, the other is a game the fans dispise with a passion only ever seen at Star Trek Conventions when someone calls Kirk a fat egotistical git.
So, which one do they cancel and sack the people from to 'save money' Do they cancel the one that is a load of crap, a waste of money and resources and basically villified? Or do they cancel the decent game?
Any normal person can kinda see it's not a hard choice to make....
ahh, they cancelled the good game... and from what I've been reading, (note, I said from what I've been reading i.e. not solid facts) the project was having problems because some morons in management were so damn besotted with their beloved console idea, they failed to take on several key issues.
A. Good Graphics
B. Decent Gameplay.
C. Good story.
D. In keeping with Canon.
Instead we get.
A. Subpar Graphics.
B. Generic Gameplay for this genre.
C. More gratuitous 'hoes' and swearing then an actual story.
D. Completely made up story that has nothing at all to do with Fallout.
Gee... this game is going to so rock... I'm buying two just for the hell of it!
Seriously, Interplay screwed up biiiiiig time, and yes it's been said, resaid, and said yet again and it won't make a lick of difference in the long run, it's just sometimes when your dog craps on the carpet, you have to rub their noses in it for it to learn not to do it again... If they hadn't been jerking around with thier over inflated egos and underinflated wallets, and just scrapped FO;BOS the moment fan response was so poor then maybe, just maybe they might have made it to 2005, sadly, this time in march (or may at the latest) what was once a good company, will find itself dead in the back alley... a victim of assraping itself to death....
Seriously, is their anything at all to redeem this game? no really, lets see...
Publicity: Alienated main fan base by closing down one of it's most beloved studios in favour of this game (I DARE someone to tell me BIS isn't closed, two frikken people don't make a studio)
Game itself: Looks slapped together and not very good, apparently plays like BG
A
Theme: Wasteland setting, strays from 50's style of fallout by adding metal bands to it's sound track (Hang on, I thought they had no money left?)
Oh dear oh dear... Who's been a silly boy Interplay?
