does anoyone here know what "crunchers" are? it is some way of training your stummick muscles, but I need to know how to

A "crunch" is sort of like a sit-up. Lay on your back and cross your arm on your chest. Slightly bend your knees and raise your upper body but not all the way. Try to do it in such a way as use your abdominal muscles. You will feel it after a dozen or so.

isn't crunch a chocolate? if you are doing your muscles with that... then I'd like one of that kind also :D

Well, if a Nestlé Crunch gave you better abs, I'd be fit.

Like JJ86 said though, a crunch is basically a shorter sit-up and is a lot better at isolating the abs than a sit up as well as being nicer to your lower back.

pardon me if i asked, but are crunches (not the chocolates) good for warming-ups?

No, it's a muscle-growing exercise, just like sit-ups, push-ups and weightlifting.

Good warmups are running, riding a bicycle hard, jumping a rope or even swimming (if not too much, swimming is pretty tough). And despite what most people think, a brisk stroll of 30 minutes is also a good warm-up, though not as good as the former.

Don't know about the chocolate cranches, they might be a good warm-up.

Ahh, crunchies, reminds me of the good old days of running Cross Country and Track during High School... The way I learned it was to lay on your back, bend your knees and lift your legs above your chest. Sounds sexual, but it really works! Put your hands behind your head and do the motion for regular sit-ups. Do about 10-15 of these.
Then do movements of touching your left elbow to your right knee, twisiting your torso, for 10 reps. Then the other way. Then do alternating movements these with 10 reps of each side.
Then do bicycle kicks while streching your legs all the way out and also touching the knees and elbows at the same time.
There's about 5 more stages that we would do, but they're pretty hazy right now... I guess that's what we got for stopping in the woods all the time for a little mind-altering recreational break...
Oh, these crunchies would be done AFTER we had done a mile warm-up and at least a 5 mile run. These are killer stretches to do especially when you're so darn tired, but they really work!
