Reference to Interplay?

I know the quote in the image is a famous speach, but could it have been included as a homage to Interplay? "By gamers for gamers"

"By the people, for the people" is a classic phrase in American legislation and popular politics, it is completely unrelated to Interplay's old company phrase.
 
I also think that Beth doesn't have enough class to give a nod to Interplay anyways.

We're talking about a company that used an NPC in Morrowind to verbally insult their own fans.
 
Yeah, I knew the immediate meaning beging the american political phrase... just thought maybe there was a second meaning. Evidently not.
 
The game does feature the old Interplay logo with the planet and rocketship, but only because it doubled as the Galaxy News logo in FO1.

edit: and in case you wanna say thats not the speech its from and its from another....check the date...that was the day the gettysburg address was delivered...stupid PA public schools right next to gettysburg...you tend to learn facts about what happened 10 miles from you....who knew?
 
Ahh damnit, I had to memorize and recite that speech in 8th grade... shows how much of it stuck with me.
 
lol....i had to do it in 3rd grade....8th grade and 11th grade....amazing how much schools around here reteach you the same crap over and over again :/
 
You Americans and your silly, uber-patriotic phrases and whatnot. ;)

I must be to "Canadian" to really get all of your "by the people, for the people," stuff. Constitutional monarchy all the way.

Although, now that I think of it, in the FO universe my beloved nation didn't fare very well.

As for the reference, I stand by what I mentioned above... Beth slaps its own fans in the face with their games, so I doubt highly that they'd give props to Interplay.
