Savegame question concerning mod installs.

I am planning on using the new F/O 1 mod from TEAMX. My question is-Do I have to do a fresh install of FO1 and the officail patch before applying the mod, thus removing the origanal saved games, or can I just install the mod and overwrite the existing saved games when I am playing. Also apply the same question to FO2 when running the Wasteland Merc mod, after I finish playing it.
 
In both cases there is no need to reinstall the hole game. Just don't try to load your old saved games with the new mods. That will cause problems with new features or even game lockups. So, the safe way is to completely (re)move old saves. Otherwise it's always possible to use the by the mistake.
 
To remove only the savegame files, do I just delete the whole savegame folder, or do I leave the folder in place and just empty it.
 
You can just rename your old save slots to make them invisible to the game, from "Slot04" to "Slot04improvedtwoweaponfighting" for instance. Assuming you want to keep them.
