Several recruits not showing up in the bunker

First time out of the vault
I've reinstalled the game and redone the first mission a couple times and it keeps happening, several of the basic recruits aren't showing up when I get to the base. I'm playing from the Fallout Trilogy version, which was on v1.13, but I finished downloading 1.27 patch a minute ago and I just loaded up my profile and they're still not there. Should I start another new game with the recent patch and se if that fixed it?

Or is it some game data is just corrupted?
 
When you update the game it is "highly recommended" to start over.

When you load a saved game after you update it the changes will not take effect on the current mission or on the previously played missions it may never take effect because that part of the game was already loaded and saved in your save.
Starting over is your best bet.
 
Redid the first mission yet again, back in the bunker, they're showing up now, so it must have just been a patching issue. Can enjoy the game without worrying about the team I want later not showing up.
