Some points made by people defending Fallout 4

Let me start by saying I don't have anything against people liking and supporting Fallout 4, it's just the people that make weak or invalid points in support of Fallout 4 that upset me.

I took these comments from Angry Joe's Fallout 4 Review.

  1. Not an "action shooter" (whatever that is supposed to be), an action RPG. And actually, you can roleplay a lot, with a plethora of quests, some of them with very meaningful choices with deep ethical implications and visible impact on parts of the world, stories told in dialogues, terminal entries, letters and items/bodies lying around, memorable NPCs and character customization. If you have not seen it, you should clean your glasses and look again.
  2. I do know what an RPG is, and Fallout 4 is an action RPG. If you do not know that, you either have not properly played the game or you have no clue about basic gaming terminology. Why don`t you stop embarassing yourself with your absurd claims?
  3. Fallout 4 is not "great", but it is good. And it is by definition a Fallout game. Therefore, it is a good Fallout game. Stop spreading generic nonsense, it just makes you seem boring and stupid.
  4. stop comparing it to other fallout games and judge it for it's individual characteristics. Just because some of the features that you liked it previous fallout games aren't included doesn't make it a bad game, as many people actually prefer said changes. You have to remember that part of making a successful video game means expanding your audience. Fo4 does this perfectly: it keeps the rpg feel, albeit watered down somewhat, in return for a more diverse gameplay style that people who aren't particularly fond of rpgs can still enjoy.
  5. Anyone who thinks FO4 is too much action and not enough RPG, go read a book.
  6. Fallout 4 is a fantastic fallout game, probably the best. The story and the player's interaction with it as well as the player's motivation were finally tied directly into the game world thanks to the settlement system. The world is fun to explore and full of things to discover and do.
