First time out of the vault
up to this point all the specs seemed to be pointing to "if you can run F3 you can probally play NV. i preordered and already planned to build a new system so i can play this on high. the new parts are on the table behind me, 3 core amd, ati5770, as rock mb.... budget but effective. while i was waiting for the parts i found this link: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/intro.aspx omg the system i use now for FO3 won't run NV!!!!
P4 3.2 (check)
2 gb ram (check)
192 gb freen space (check)
ati850xt (fail)
the problem is shader2 on the atix850 pro (flashed to 16 pipelines) just so you know.

i know this ? belongs in hardware but think i should use xp or win7 64 on the new build; just for games?
 
Well, I'd say if you can start an play Fallout 3, New Vegas should work as well. I very much doubt that they have modified the engine so much that your graphic card will go nuts on it.
 
nope, my old system will not run New Vegas. The system test in the link from my first post is from bethesda blogs. theres a little installer (remove from the control panel or disable in the browser if you must)
the system i just finished (beside the one bad stick of ram, talk about panic! lol) pegs the graphic! from low setting on FO3 to ultra high. it's the first time i've seen FO3 the way it's supposed to look.
