Inspired by YouTube lore videos and Reddit threads, I decided to try my hand at coming up with some Fallout trivia.

You're welcome to post your own ideas, the more ridiculous, the better!

Fallout 3

The Elder Scrolls games take place in the same universe as Fallout franchise. Keen observers may find the same location in both Fallout 3 and Skyrim.

Fallout 3/ Fallout/ Fallout 2

Mothership Zeta DLC is based on one of design documents for original Fallout. Instead of Supermutants, Vault Dweller would face Aliens.
After finding the wrecked UFO, VD would get beamed up by Zetans into their ship, where he would confront Zetan Lieutenant and his Master.
Sadly almost everything had to be scrapped due to engine limitations. Final areas of Zetan ship were remade into Mariposa Base and Cathedral, while the UFO crash site was kept as a Special Encounter. Alien models that were already made were later used as Wanamingos in Fallout 2.

Fallout 3
The idea to make the player character completely useless in the main quest is based on the fact that Emil wasn't present at staff meetings where they were discussing the story.

Fallout 1
The game is actually based on true events where Tim woke up and found himself in a Wasteland. Sadly, some elements of his story where cut but they eventually found their way into The Outer Worlds.

Fallout 4
The original backstory for the Male Main character is that him and his wife had a drunken one night stand and she got pregnant, leading them to get forced into Marriage by her demanding Parents. But Todd found this too restricting of a backstory and so it was cut to allow more freedom for the Player.

Fallout 2
The talking Deathclaws was actually based on an acid trip Chris had while he was in the desert. He hates the idea of them because they give him PTSD.

Fallout 76
The game was originally going to be a reboot of Fallout 1, just set on the other side of the country and with it being online. However the developers felt the story felt too much like Fallout 3 and so they cut it late into development.

In Fallout 1, instead of defeating the Master in combat, you can actually convince him that his plan is inherently flawed. Distraught with the thought of all the horrible things he has done, he joins the Vault Dweller as a companion to redeem himself. The two of them then travel north to wipe out the Enclave and live happily ever after in Arroyo.

Fallout 1 and 2 are actually prequels to the first Fallout game, Fallout 3. With the success of Fallout 3, a talentless, rag-tag group of developers calling themselves Black Aisle Studios wanted to cash in on the brand. Bethesda reportedly didn’t want these spin-offs to be prequels, so Black Aisle made the Fallout world more “civilized” to hide this fact.
