Trouble with the music in F1

Hello, I wondered if someone here could help me with the following problem.

I believe my fallout 1 cd is scratched; the reason I believe that is because the game does not play any music. When I found this out, I tried to look for the files on my cd, however I got an error message when I tried to open the data folder. It simply stated that I should put a disc in the drive. Which was of course ridiculous as the disc WAS in the drive.

To get to the point: I'm in desperate need of the music files, because, as I'm sure you'll agree, this game needs to be played with it's magnifisent music.
Is there a place where I could lay my hands on those files? Or is there a good soul that knows of a way to send me those files? You would make a fellow dweller very happy, as it's been too long since I played Fallout, and I want to be amased by it's beauty once again.

Thank you very much in advance.

The music files: you can get the MP3s here http://www.3ddownloads.com/nma-fallout/fo2/music or here http://www.duckandcover.cx/fallout2/music/index.php

The best you could do is download the MP3 files, uncompress them to WAV (you can use Winamp or CDEX), then use a WAV to ACM converter like http://audio-converter.2-mp3.com/audio-converter/ (I'm pretty sure you can find one in http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php

Oh, and please don't ask for sending you files, because it's not going to happen. Also, make a habit of using http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/search.php

Cheers

Oh the joy! I cannot thank you enough for helping me out.

Oh, ok. I'm sorry, I didn't want to get anyone angry with my first post here :?

Granted, although you have to admit that it can be quite hard to find anything in the huge amounts of posts and threads on this forum. :)

Anyway, thanks again.

Searching is one of those things you get better at the more you do it (if you bother to learn, of course). So do it. :)

The large amounts of posts are due to people not researching their problems ;)

Very true, very true. I will try and get the hang of this... "searching", as you call it...

Thanks again.

Heh, I didn't know, I would have pointed him there... Googlesearch only finds DaC`s site (for a search on the track titles, at least...)

Great, now I also got the title song and the music for the Kahns.

Ps: Is this forum dating anyone; coz I'm falling in love here. :)

Ok, after all this time, it's a bit embarrassing to admit that there is one more problem, that I hadn't found out about before... I never noticed.

So, I did as I was advised to do, and made some beautiful ACM files from the WAVs of the soundtrack. However, when I was watching the credits, and Maybe was playing, I noticed that something must have gone wrong, because the song was playing at an incredible slow speed... And of course, now I noticed that none of the ACM files sounded like they had to.

I took the mp3s from the site, converted them to WAVs using a program called mp32wav. Then I used the Infinity Sound Converter, made by TeamBG to make ACM files out of the WAVs.

So, once again, I am calling for your aid, who can help me with my wee little problem?

Fallout speech ACMs, when converted into WAV, play exactly one octave higher than normal, i.e. twice as fast. I didn't know the same was true for the music though. You should be able to fix this by changing the sample rate of the WAVs before turning them into ACMs using... some utility.

Yep, sped it up by 100% with Windows Sound Recorder (that's a literal translation of the dutch name, so I'm not sure it's called that), and then converted the WAVs to ACMs, which turned out perfect. Thanks for the help.
